Naruto 545 review

Hello everyone, naruto's latest chapter came out today and i'll be reviewing it in 5

Sorry, that was lame of me.

Anyways, the chapter starts out with Madara musing over what kisama said in his last report before he died, that Naruto is now able to sense negative emotions, whats interesting is apparently so could the first hokages wife, as Madara didnt mention Kushina, it made me wonder if only certain people can use this ability with the Kyuubi ( implying Kushina just couldn't sense negative emotions) Or only people who can control the Nine-tails get this ability ( implying kushina never had the mastery of the nine-tails that naruto now has)

But moving on we get a glimpse of HQ, where Shikaku shows his faith in naruto again, faith he first showed back when Naruto convinced him to let him see Pein by himself and showing it again here when he states that they should just let Naruto go, Perhaps hoping he will end this war like he ended Pein's invasion.

Heading over to the medical camps we see the medic-nins examining Zetsu, Apparently the Zetsu that was killed at the 5 Kage summit was taken back ( to Konoha? that would be odd considering Danzo fled, but maybe which ever country that had him just released the body for the other countries to examine), The new Zetsu's are... Evolving perhaps? to be more like the first Hokage, the most important development there is that they can apparently use Mokuten, something we have yet to see but probably a foreshadowing of day 2 of the war.

I love this picture, its really quite amazing, with Madara in the middle, the sun shining behind him, signaling the start of day 2 of the way, with Madara personally gunning for the last two jinchuuriki.

His six paths are with him, a question was raised of just what are these 6 paths? will they be similar to Peins? and how do they move exactly?

I have a couple theories on why these paths dont have chakra rods like the original.

A)  Pein was always very far from his summons, unlike Madara, Pein would fight from miles away, and I think the chakra rods helped him focus his chakra on those long distances.

B)  Pein was hooked up to the Demonic statue, that must have taken its toll on him, I think perhaps Nagato was simply too weak to control all his paths without any assistence, and those Chakra rods amplified the Chakra he used to control the dead bodies, This makes sense when you remember how Nagato Stopped controlling all his other paths when he used Yahiko for his mass shinra tensei.

Back on course, Shikaku contacts Naruto and Bee, I dont like how these new abilities show up that just allow him to talk to them like that, seems way too convenient  for me but Anyways, he informs them first about the Zetsu's power before going into his real reason of contacting Naruto, to tell him to forget about talking to Madara and just bring him down, as Naruto is famous for Talking first and acting later, this is sound advice for him, but whats surprising is Naruto listens and says he wont go easy on Madara, Naruto is becoming more of a realist now and realizing some people cannot be changed ( Or maybe he just hates Madara for killing both his parents and corrupting his best friend)
We meet up with members of some division, I dont think any of them were shown before but one of them was Bee's old friend, Naruto sees them and stops to say Hi.

Informing Bee ( who he now calls uncle, which I find really cute) That all of them are enemies, Naruto charges forwards and We get to witness Naruto's new powers, he forms quite a few Rasengans to create a vaccum that apparently grabs all the Nearby Zetsu's, I think a picture would explain it best here.

Zetsu shows off a new ability as well, he can apparently fuse several bodies together to create a rather monstrous looking thing, but all that means nothing when Gamahiro is summoned, as in his first appearance Way way back during the Invasion of Konoha arc, he crushes something just be by summoned on top of it, thats a neat little call back to that event.

The chapter concludes with Naruto making several Shadow clones and going off to join each battle field and showing us that each clone still controls the nine-tails chakra, unlike before when the Kyuubi disrupted his shadow clones and caused them to disappear, this new chakra works with them, Perhaps we may never see Sage Naruto after this, as controlled Kyuubi chakra can both sense enemies and allow unlimited amount of shadow clones.

Comments

Awesome chapter with perhaps a bit too much talking, showing of the abilities of both Naruto and Zetsu, it reminded me of the times they almost fought, back when Itachi beat Sasuke and again when team 7 reunited and Zetsu appeared and challenged Naruto, now Naruto is the perfect foil to him, as he is able to turn his clones back to plants, a really cool idea which Kisi hinted to way back when the Kyuubi was mastered.

I dont really know much about art, but I thought that each page was beautifully done, Kishi doesnt ignore anything and I loved the little details he added here and there.

You can even see Bee in the bottom panel, wow!
I'm not one for Predictions I think most likely next week or very soon Naruto and Gaara will work together, thats really pretty much my only predictions but before I wrap this review up, I'll ask you guys a couple of questions.

1- How do you think Madara controls those bodies? Just pure chakra? or maybe those rods are hidden somewhere?

2- Will we ever see Sage Chakra again?

And thats a wrap, you can find reviews for older Naruto chapters on my blog, thanks for reading :D

Perspective Part 1 People.

Howdy, it sure feels like I haven't written anything in a while, even thought I just didn't write for... one day.

Anyways I'm planning on writing a series of posts about perspective and how we see things and why different people can interpret the same thing in totally opposite ways.

Firstly I'm gonna start by saying that we are all different, yes its obvious but some people seem to think that we all grew up in the same environment or something and thats not true, we are all so different, separated by beliefs, gender, race, colour, background, country, society, there are so many factors that come into shaping us into who we are and those factors are why we are so unique.

yeah I know what I just said is something we all know

As I said, we are all different people and we react differently to everything, this is perspective, its the way we see things, the way we judge what is right and wrong, what helps us decide to do things or leave them alone ,our perspective in life makes us who we are.

In this post I want to talk about how we can all view the same person yet come to different conclusions about them, ask 10 people about the same person, and each one can you give a different response, starting from " nice guy" and ending with " Complete asshole" and each one of them will think they know that guy best.
So how can one person have so many conflicting opinions about them?
I think there are Two reasons, the first is that we act differently depending on who we are with, Are you the same person with your best friend as you are with your grandparents? Probably not, we changed based on who is around us and we treat others differently, you don't treat each stranger alike, some are treated better then others while some are mistrusted and kept at arms length, three people you have never met can say "Hi" to you and your response can be extremely different to each.

"Bye"

"Bye"

"Hello beautiful"
So thats the first point, that people themselves are very diverse and have many sides to them that they show to people. We should try to get to know more then one side before we judge them.

The other reason I believe we have different opinions of people is we tend to view others in our own way, whats cool for someone is arrogant for others, and whats nice to some may come of as being weak at the same time.
Cool or arrogant?

In my university, I spend some of my time tutoring other people, they would have a problem in a subject and would ask me for help and usually I'd help them out, I mean why shouldn't I?

Yet the other day one of my hostel-mates asked me " Why are you so weak ?" and I questioned him what he meant and he said " You spend all your time helping others, you're kinda like a doormat"
That's his opinion, that's what he thought, yet other people thought it was nice to help others, especially when you can make a difference between them passing or failing, if you aren't doing something for yourself, why not help others? at least that's how I think, some Interpret my actions as being right, others say I'm wrong.

We should all try to see things from other's perspective, we don't know people, we don't know what they have been through in life or where they are coming from, yet we instantly think they are wrong and we are right just cause their opinion opposes ours, we spend more time arguing with them and trying to prove them wrong then trying to understand why they think the way they do.

Its said that to understand someone, you need to walk a mile in their shoe, I think you just need to spend five minutes looking through their eyes.

Naruto 544 Review

Hello everyone, here's my second review for the latest chapter of naruto, chapter 544.

We start off this week by going back to HQ where shikaku is having a hard time with the Zetsu problem, since Zetsu can can copy anyone's chakra he has slipped into the alliance bases and managed to wreak havoc, a problem that shikaku has yet to solve.

In this scene you can find the difference between Shikaku and Shikimaru, unlike Shiki who listens to everyone, his dad cut of Katsuya before she could tell him something important, I don't know if this is out of character or not but its odd to find a leader who dismisses a report before its even said to him.

Back to back brothers.

Scene shifts back to last week's group, where Bee's lariat has beaten Raikage, A is amazed by Bee's strength and we follow a discussion about how a jinchuriki's power comes not from their tailed beast, but from a hidden power inside them and how Naruto has two sources of power inside of him.

I find it interesting how all throughout the series, Naruto's parents were supposed to be kept a secret from everyone, even most Konoha people didn't know the 4th was his dad, yet apparently the hidden cloud knew who his parents were and that Akatsuki ( at least Madara) also knew, you'd think that either one of those two powers would have tried to capture Naruto when he was just a kid and nobody protected him, odd but lets move on....

What follows is basically a summary of what we know, 4th fought Madara, thought he was too powerful, nine-tails was freed, was sealed into Naruto along with his mother's chakra to help him tame him, Nothing new here.

I did enjoy A calling the 4th the savior of the world, it shows again just how well informed Raikage is, he seems to know everything there is to know about the 4th, it also seems that Jiraya never really knew who the child of prophecy really was during his life time, as he called Minato, Nagato and Naruto all children of prophecy, but Since Naruto is the only one still alive, Its clear now who the child of prophecy really is.

This whole chapter might be summed up in one word: Faith, something that was brought up in the pain arc when Tsunada said they should all have faith in Naruto and the next generation, here she says the same thing again, Naruto also asks for A to have faith in him as Naruto reminds him how much his parents have sacrificed for him as well as how he is the Savior of the world.
Aside from Faith, this chapter makes many callbacks to former events, It seems like everything in naruto is coming together, is this leading to a conclusion? I wonder...

Raikage ponders all that was said, from his brother and Tsunada defending Naruto to his fight with Minato, and comes to the conclusion that if Naruto can do what his father did, maybe he really is a savior just like him, and with that we make a callback to another event that happened many years before.

Naruto dodging his fastest attack convinces A to let him go, Naruto has finally convinced and perhaps changed A to believe in in, something that Naruto couldn't do before when they first met, where A told him he is weak and shouldn't have come to meet him, the situation is reversed here with A believing in Naruto's strength and letting him to go on ahead.

Back at HQ shikaku realizes their only way to find fake Zetsu is to use Naruto who is not allowed to join the war, this time katsuya makes sure to inform him what happens.

Most interesting development

While he only makes one page of this chapter, Madara knows how to make things interesting, he has brought back the 6 paths of pain, but this time he isn't just using normal shinobi, oh no, Madara has brought back all the Jinchuriki they have captured, from the 2nd Tails to the 7th Tailed host, all these will make up Madara's paths of pain.
However its interesting to see that unlike the original 6 paths, they don't have two Rinnegan, but their eyes are made of one Sharingan and one Rinnegan, this brings up a question about the six paths, are the bodies eye's replaced with those new eyes? or do their eyes somehow morph to match the user's eyes?
At first I thought it was the latter, but considering how many eyes Madara has in stock, its not impossible for it to be the former, I mean there could be other people with the Rinnegan, or does this sound like nonsense to you?

Conclusion

Decent chapter, it shifted the focus from B to Naruto nicely and showed the heart and soul of a jinchuriki as well as their powers, both of them managed to brawl with A and arguably both won and convinced him to let them help in the war.

I didn't feel these last 3 chapters have moved the story forward much, A spent pretty much the whole night talking and it felt as much when I read it, Still, its good to show how the war isn't just people fighting during the day, but strategy and techniques being thought out to be used the next day.

Madara's 6 Paths of pain will be interesting to watch, will they all be like the original 6 where everyone has only one ability? will they have the same powers as they did when they were alive? will they share vision and just how powerful is this Sharingan/Rinnegan combo? Its what I am looking forward to the most.

Well, till next time and hope you enjoyed this chapter as much as I did :D.

First Impressions

In life, no matter who you are every few years you're going to go to a new and totally different environment, when you first start school, high school, when you move to another place, when you enter university, when you start working, In all of these situations you'll probably be alone with no one you know there and making a good impression will be.... well not really that important but better then making a bad impression.
First impressions and how our first meeting with people could set the tone for the whole relationship, I know we all wish we had made a better first impression with certain people, and how better our relationships would be if they started out on the right foot

When we meet people for the first time, a lot of factors come into our head that help us categorize them as good or bad people, friends or potential enemies, nice or arrogant.
A lot of how we judge people when we first see them comes from past experiences with people, if you've been robbed by a french guy, then french people will probably make a bad impression on you.

The media also has a subtle effect on us, they show us images of say a black guy robbing a store or an Arab guy, then they switch to scenes of an explosion, I wonder if they are hinting at anything?

I wonder what they're trying to say...

Yes I'm such a racist....

Although I think I moved a bit off topic, back to the main issue, when we first meet people we don't know what happened to them before they met us, we could see them with their hair messed up, and a torn shirt and think that they are slobs, because that's what we see that's how we judge, its the very first time I see you, and you cant change that first impression, its for life.

They could have just finished a football game, but we don't know that, so we judge, and as we are judging them, we are giving them a first impression of ourselves as well, we see a guy who looks like he just sweated a bucket and is now raving like a lunatic, and we don't say anything to them, and he would see some cold guy who is giving him a disapproving look, its a two-way thing, as people make first impressions on us, we make first impressions on them.

How accurate are our initial feelings? that's hard to tell, but generally if you're a good judge of character, you'll be able to tell who is and isn't worth your time just from the first meeting.

Almost 10 years ago when I was in school, my class played football with another class, and one of the people on their side was to put it bluntly, being a dick, he was showing off and insulting every person within earshot. I disliked him from the moment I saw him.

Fast Forward 10 years, and I met him again, this time though he was going to be my room mate :/
Although he might have changed during the the last 10 years, this was my first time meeting him since then, and my only interaction with this guy was a football game long ago, but it was enough to make me feel defensive around him. that, and the fact that we don't get along at all.

Would our relationship be different if we had met in better circumstances? I don't know, but I think not, as even if we had a good first meeting, eventually his all around asshole behavior would show up anyways.

I believe first impressions are usually quite accurate, but that's what my experiences have taught me, when I meet new people I tend to be quiet and observe them, see how they respond to me before i judge them, anyone worth anything will try to get to know you even if you don't say anything, while the less-then-useless people will just dismiss you, and that's a good basis to know who is and isn't worth your time.

Muscle Growth

Please check my other articles on Ideal weight and Losing weight.
Hey guys and possibly girls, In this post I'll be talking about how Muscles grow and the factors that affect muscle growth.

Firstly lets start with how do muscle grow anyways? Muscle growth occurs in two stages, The first part is happens when the muscle is under stress and the second part is when the muscle starts to repair itself.

When you exercise, you're stressing the muscle, you're putting added weight and tension there and as that happens the cells in your muscle break down and causes Micro-tears. Micro tears are very small ( hint: microscopic) cuts in your muscle, these cuts are almost like a small cut on the skin, however you'll have a lot of them and while they may be small they are what give you that very sore feeling after you workout.

Thats the first part of muscle growth, which is cell break down, The second part needed for a muscle to grow is after you have Micro-tears, your body will work hard to repair that damage, however the human body is an intelligent thing, when it repairs those tiny Micro-tears, it will replace them with stronger, bigger cells, Because the body figures out It needs to be stronger so it wont have to repair itself anytime soon.

Now all this is nice to know, but what you should know basically is that the more Micro-tears you make, the better, and to make as many cuts as you can, you should stress out the body as hard as possible, and to do that you should exercise with intensity and not with high reps.

This is why intensity > reps, bench pressing 100 pounds for 10 times will stress your muscles much much more then say bench pressing 20 pounds 50 times. The more the muscle contracts, the more cuts you will have, the more pain you will feel the next day, but also the bigger your muscles will get.

Some of the new machines and exercises seem to promote almost no intensity or effort from your part, those will never work, you cannot "shake" off fat and build muscle, it doesnt work like that.

Oh right, I'll say it again, train with intensity, not with high reps.
But be smart about it, if you're sore all over, you should just rest and let muscle repair do its work.

For muscle repair to happen you need a lot of rest, which is why almost everyone will tell you that you should only exercise 3-4 times a week.

Muscle growth requires a massive amount of protein, if you want to help grow your body, you need about 0.7-1 gram of protein for each pound you weight, this amount varies and can go up to 2 grams of protein for each pound for very high level athletes.

Thats just to sustain your body, but do you know that each pound of muscle in your body has 100 grams of protein in it? so you should get excess amount of protein, its better to have more then you need then less then you need, still try not to overshoot too much, experiment and see what works for you.

By the way, each pound = 450 grams, the 350 grams left on each muscle are made up of fat, blood and carbohydrates.

Here's a list of some popular foods and how much protein they contain.

250mill of milk has about 8 grams of protein

A boiled egg has around 6 grams of protein
100 grams of sausages has around 17 grams of protein

A roasted chicken leg has around 26 grams of protein.

Calculate how much protein you need in a day and the foods you'll need to get that amount.
And thats pretty much it for natural muscle growth, I'll add more information later about the effects of steroids on athletes.

Love your body.

Cheating

Greetings everyone, in this post I'll be discussing about cheating and why some people do it and some others don't  before I start though I'll show you what I Dont mean by cheating.

Charles is quite a guy

Since I have very little knowledge on the whole dating thing, I cant offer any advice on that, since I've been single since....ever, so No, we wont be discussing affairs and unfaithful spouses, as interesting as it sounds, so if you're here for that you can just.... well please do stay I need the pageviews :P

Is this what you're here for?

So the type of cheating I meant is whether cheating in exams is wrong or right, of course the more "moral" people will say that cheating is wrong, but is it really?

Its not like people cheat for fun, Cheating has a huge risk attached to it, in School they make you stand outside for an hour or something, they made me balance a bucket on my head while I was out, the teachers were very fond of me back then.
Ahh, this reminds me of school

Still beat being in class I guess, but in University the risk becomes huge if you're caught, you either fail the subject, get suspended for some time, or get expelled, And when you're spending 17k for a year, that's not something light to waste half a year or get kicked out, your whole investment is lost, and the people who cheat (probably) know this.

So if the Cheaters know how risky being caught is, why do they still cheat?
Because they don't have much else of a choice, If put between definitely failing and Possibly failing, most people would pick to Possibly fail.
I say most people cause we all know one idiot who'd go "duuuh, what are my choices again?"

I don't cheat myself, I'll go in the exam knowing the subject enough to pass and with a decent carry mark, other people might not be so lucky, either they got screwed in some assignment and have to pretty much ace the finals or they just don't get the subject, which leads to...

The bad part is when you're asked to help someone else, at which point you have to take a risk and gain nothing in return, or you tell them no and have them mad at you, Its a wonderful feeling.

I try to help as much as I can, yet I don't enjoy it, I can understand other people needing help but if i myself am unsure and I give them my answer and they fail, will they blame me? do that have a right to blame me? is that fair? they depended on other people ( You should always just depend on yourself) and lost because of it, does it justify their anger?

No it doesn't, but that wont matter when they get mad and blame you.

Their original answer before I helped.

Still, on the morality of whether Cheating is wrong or not I'd have to say it isn't, we don't know other people's situations, we don't know what they are going through or why they aren't prepared, What I know is that it seems more wrong to fail a semester and force your parents to pay more money for you, then to cheat when you have a chance, The feeling of failing is hard to swallow and it can depress people a lot and they forget to think clearly or even worse.

Get out of my blog horatio.

In the end finding out what is right or wrong is just a matter of perspective we all see things differently, before you judge other people remember that you're not in their situation and you don't know what they have been through.

Class dismissed.

Ideal Weight

This is my followup guide to Losing Weight and Muscle growth.
Today I'll talk about the current fads that people seem to follow when they judge other's on their weight, Firstly we will start with BMI.

BMI = Body Mass Index, its a way to tell if your weight is normal based on two things, Your height and your weight, by taking these two things and putting them in some equation you'll find out if you're healthy or not...

Check this chart for your bmi

At least in theory that's whats supposed to happen, yet BMI is probably the most useless thing you can use to base your weight on, it means nothing because it just tells you.... well it doesn't tell you anything at all really, Because BMI takes in just weight and height, it doesn't factor in other things like body fat or muscle mass, which are way Way more important in judging just how healthy you are, For an example on how badly BMI sucks here's an 'overweight' guy.

Get out of the way fatty
Thats Steven Crawford, he's an Olympic runner, he has 28 BMI, he's overweight because his weight is 200 pounds and his height is 177, as you can see BMI didnt take into account his muscle mass, instead it just judges on Weight and Height alone, which is why You shouldn't use it.

But if BMI is so broken, then what should we use? I mean we all want to know if we are improving so should we just use the scale as a way to tell us if we are healthy?

Well....no not really, sure if you just want to lose weight then the scale is enough, but if you want to get a better body then the scale wont really help you there, to do that you should measure your body fat.

Body Fat tells you how much fat is in your body ( Surprised? :P ) there are scales for this that tell you how much Body fat you have, they are usually quite inaccurate and might give you an extra 2-3% body fat, but you should use them anyway, Why? because like an inaccurate scale that adds say 5 pounds to your weight, if you use it enough times, it will tell you whether you're gaining or losing weight, it just wont tell you accurately how much you currently weigh.

Body fat will make the biggest difference in how you look, 2% difference in body fat makes a huge difference, and its a tough thing to lose, much tougher then weight ( Thats the difference between weight and fat, weight = the combined total of everything you have together, Fat = how much of that spongy stuff do you have)

Since pictures speak a thousand words, here's what different body fat % look like.

This is the level most athletes are, getting below 7% is not worth the effort

20% body fat is considered average
Well thats what guys would look like, by the way average for guys is 20%, for women is around 28%

Definition is lost as body fat increases
28% may be average but it isnt healthy

The above illustrates the difference in just a few % of body fat, generally women will have 10% more body fat then men. But what about the rest of you? if you're say, 15% then where does your other 85% come from?

Well The human body is made of a lot of things, those things take up a lot of weight, bones, organs, blood all that factors in and those are things you cant change, but you should focus on muscle mass, because Two people can have the same weight, same body fat level, but because of a difference in muscle mass, they will look completely different.

I think the one on the left is more muscler :/

As you can see, more muscle mass makes a huge difference, body fat is important but without any muscle to back it up, you'll just be a skeleton.

And thats really all there is too it, judging a person just from their weight or BMI wont work, its literally whats inside them that will determine what they look like, reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass should be everyone's goal, not seeing some number on a scale that doesnt even matter.

Love your body. :D.

Naruto 543 review

Here's my first naruto review at chapter 543, despite being a fan of the serious since the first episode, still cant call me hasty I guess.

We start the episode almost immediately from when we finished it last week, with Raikage charging to get minato, but the 4th proves once again why he is the fastest ninja by avoiding Raikage and appearing right behind Bee by using his thunder god technique.

But before he goes through with it, Bee tells him that if he gets stabbed, he will stab the 4th in return, the flashback ends with the 4th praising Bee for being a true shinobi.

We're back to the present, where Naruto stills finds A too fast to beat, he takes Another clean hit but vows he wont give up ( does Naruto ever give up?)

After a particularly brutal hit from A, Bee decides to get involved and tries to use Lariat on his brother, Unluckily A is still too strong, but that may have been what B was planning all along.

Tough love.

Heh heh, dam is Bee badass, with both Jinchuriki against him A asks tsunade for her help, who hesitates for a bit before showing us which side she's on.

Raikage argues against her reasoning, he demands proof from Bee that he can win and Bee responds by charging at raikage and using another lariat on him, Turns out he was just faking and fistbumps A again, we then start another Flashback to when the Third Raikage died.

Bee finds A crying, which is kinda sad but he reminds him that starting tomorrow he will be Raikage, but A has other plans, he tells Bee to forget using lariat and focus on mastering the Tailed Beast Bomb, and that from now on B will never leave the village.

We switch back to the present, where we see a softer side of A, he preclaims how important Naruto and Bee are to the war and how they cant afford to lose them, Bee still wont give up and shouts that they will beat akatsuki and charges in for the 3rd lariat against his brother.

Bee knocks Raikage flat on his ass, as naruto stares in awe of B, he reminds us that a jinchuriki's power doesnt just come from the tailed beast but from somewhere else as well, the chapter ends with A being amazed by his brother.

Comments.

A very solid chapter after almost 2 weeks of just flashbacks I thought this was a nice return to the main story, the fight between A and Bee is solid, and has quite an emotional feel to it, its easy to see that A loves his brother from training him to making sure he only uses long range attacks, he wants him to stay safe and will try anything to stop from losing him, but Bee is tired from being underestimated and wants to break free and show just how strong he is to A.

Its a big development for both of them, Tsunade also gets a nice moment when she backs up Naruto instead of A, she recognizes that their best chance to win would be to include their best weapons into the fight instead of hiding them.

Naruto himself doesnt do much in this chapter, aside from getting tossed aside by raikage, it shows the speed difference between him and his father in this chapter, where as Minato ran circles around A, naruto cant even land a single punch, looks like he has a long way to go to catch up.

Overall a very nice chapter, I'd give it 4 Lariats our of 5.

Losing Weight is a simple thing.

Not an easy thing to do though.

These days its all the rage to become fit, healthy, look good, be lean and so on and so forth.
The Scale, The Enemy...

And probably the most common thing people want when they think of health is " I wanna lose weight", and that's not surprising, considering how much Films, TV's, magazines and even peer pressure discuss the topic its no wonder that weight has become such an issue, its the fastest way to judge someone, when you meet people for the first time, the first thing we judge them by is how they look, and by that I don't mean " hmm, I wonder what shoe size they wear?", But along the lines of " s/he looks pretty good".

A lot of people have trouble with their weight, its not surprising really considering how much mis-information is given out " 5 minutes a day and you can lose 10 pounds in one month"...

Haven't we all heard that? but does it work? probably for a very small number of people, but for the rest of us, no it doesn't.

So what exactly should we do to lose weight? well I'll post about that later, but for now I'll give you the idea of Why people lose or gain weight.

Its all about calories people, the average man needs 2500 calories a day ( this varies significantly between guys but lets take it as a baseline) an average woman needs around 2000 calories ( again can vary hugely), this amount is how much you need if you don't exercise in a day, if you just lay around, watch TV pretty much do nothing, you'll need this much.

But what happens if you take more then the needed amount of calories? if you need 2000 but you took in say, 2300 what happens then? Well your body wont refuse that, the 300 calories you took are gonna get stored in your body and while 300 calories isn't much, lets see where it takes us.

300 Calories never looked so good Evil!

Lets say you keep up with this 300 calories extra a day, its only 300 its not much, however come 2 weeks later and you're a pound heavier, even though you just had 'only' 300 calories extra, what happened?

One pound of fat = 3500 calories, everyday you stored those 300 extra, they accumulated, they added up, and they will take their revenge the next time you get on that scale, That small amount of 300 which equates to maybe 10 cookies has now added a pound to your weight, in fact it will add one pound every 12 days, and in a year that's around 30 pounds gained.

And don't think you can cheat this either, even if you only took 50 calories extra, in a year that's still close to 5 pounds.

Simple math people, the human body is not as hard to figure out as you think.

Losing weight therefore is a simple concept, calories in < calories out, that's all it is, you can diet or exercise but as long as you put in less calories then you use in a day, you will lose weight.

Here's a simple tool to calculate how much calories you need in a day.
http://timeforfitness.com/?page_id=536.

Figure out how much you need in a day, and how much you're getting and see if you can reduce that by 300 calories, in around a month you should lose 2 pounds, which while not much, should give you the idea on how to lose weight because people Do want to lose weight, its just they have been lied to or dont know how to.

Well now you know, and knowing is half the solution, good luck.

The pain that is Rejection.

There is a lot of things that hurt in this world, but perhaps one of the most damaging of them is to be rejected, and by rejected I mean having your university application denied or not being accepted into the chess club, damn those assholes if had just moved the Queen one space more....

But even worse then being rejected by the Chess club, is to be rejected by someone you like, specifically when you ask them out and they tell you that they can’t, wont or don’t even think about it.

That probably one of the worse feelings in the world, where you put your heart on the line, exposing your interest in someone and in return they give you that warm broken feeling only a blunt rejection can give.

I remember the last time I asked a girl out; She said no so fast you'd have thought I asked her for a kidney instead of a movie.

But getting rejected will happen, to all of us no matter what we do, it’s an inevitable fact of life, of course there are those gifted in life who get everything easy but who cares about those people anyway?

It’s when we are on the other side that rejection becomes an issue, being rejected hurts, but we learn from it, yet when someone asks Us out, and we don’t want to go with them, now That’s a tough situation because then we are either in a situation of going with them on a pity date or we have to tell them we can’t, trying to give them some excuse.

Some situations are easy to reject, whenever a guy would ask me out I can just say " sorry dude, I’m straight"
This tactic doesn’t work the other way around though, if girls asked me out I cant very well say I am straight can I?
It brings up the issue of when is it okay to lie to spare someone's feelings? what if we lie to them and they ask us again? Does it hurt more if we reject them the second time they ask? or does it sort of lessen the blow?

I myself am horrible at rejecting people, I get all nervous, my palms get sweaty, I try to avoid eye contact and I would end up saying something incredibly stupid.

Girl: so what are you doing after this?
Me: oh I don’t really have anything to do
Girl: so you wanna hang out?
Me: Oh I meant I don’t have anything to do here so I’ll...be going home :D
Girl: Hmm, you know maroon 5 are coming for a concert next week, want to come with me?
Me: sorry, I don’t like concerts
Girl: Well that’s okay, we can just go for dinner then?
Me: I don’t like eating..... either

She stopped calling me after that, I still wonder why :/

If rejection is a hard thing to face, rejecting others must be worse, because you've felt the pain of being told "No" so you know what the person in front of you feels, you also feel how bad it is to say no it just....Sucks.

So how do you guys tell people no? Do you lie? Tell them you're not interested? Make an excuse? Or *gasp* lead them on? I'm interested in learning how you'd deal with this... problem.

A Moral Dilemma.

There are some situations in life, where there is no right or wrong action to make, where any path you take has consequences and both of them are equally severe, those are what we call moral dilemmas, when you are put in a situation where its nearly impossible to make a decision.

Here is one of the most famous moral dilemmas, its based on a true story.

""In 1842, a ship struck an iceberg and more than 30 survivors were crowded into a lifeboat intended to hold 7. As a storm threatened, it became obvious that the lifeboat would have to be lightened if anyone were to survive. The captain reasoned that the right thing to do in this situation was to force some individuals to go over the side and drown. Such an action, he reasoned, was not unjust to those thrown overboard, for they would have drowned anyway. If he did nothing, however, he would be responsible for the deaths of those whom he could have saved. Some people opposed the captain's decision.
They claimed that if nothing were done and everyone died as a result, no one would be responsible for these deaths. On the other hand, if the captain attempted to save some, he could do so only by killing others and their deaths would be his responsibility; this would be worse than doing nothing and letting all die.
The captain rejected this reasoning. Since the only possibility for rescue required great efforts of rowing, the captain decided that the weakest would have to be sacrificed. In this situation it would be absurd, he thought, to decide by drawing lots who should be thrown overboard. As it turned out, after days of hard rowing, the survivors were rescued and the captain was tried for his action. If you had been on the jury, how would you have decided?""

Quite a wall of text isnt it? but that is the story, you are in a boat, the boat can only take 7 people but it has 30 inside it, either some get off and die, or everyone on the boat dies, if you're in charge, can you make that decision? would you be willing to murder some people to save others? or would you rather everyone died then face the guilt of killing so many people?

Of course some people would say "no matter what, it is wrong to kill" but don't most governments have a death penalty? if there is a serial killer and he is caught, isn't he usually sentenced to death?

Our reasoning for that is because if he ever got free, he would kill again, so the government euthanizes him ( or her) to prevent such a tragedy, it makes sense, sides its not cheap keeping someone alive for the rest of their lives and if said person has killed 30 people why keep them alive to begin with?

Its a similar situation here, we have the Lives of the Few vs Lives of the Many, where some will die for others to live or everyone dies, its a hard guilt-ridden decision to make yet if saving lives is the goal, doesn't throwing them overboard achieve that?

The method of deciding who lives and dies is interesting as well, in a survival situation where you have to row hard to survive, you have to face cold winds and icy water, and you are given the choice of two companions, A fit young man of say 25, and a woman who is 8 months pregnant, which one gives you the best chance of survival? Probably the pregnant woman :P but in our story, two women were in fact pregnant and both were throw overboard, its 4 lives in such a situation, its inhumane, its cruel but it is not unfair.

Its hard to decide if the Captain would qualify as a murderer in this situation, To murder someone is to perform an action that would lead to someone else dying, like shooting them, the captain threw them from a safe boat to freezing waters with no land in sight, some of them didnt even know how to swim, that is murder.

But isnt it also self-defense? Self-defense is the act of preventing someone from taking your life or injuring you, if someone came at you with a knife, and you killed him while trying to fight him off, thats not murder, its self-defense.

Both apply for our Captain, he killed these people willingly, he knew they would die, but keeping them around would have ended his life as well, at which point is it self-defense and at which point is it murder?

At the end of the day though, I would done the same thing as the Captain, Its these situations where we learn just how strong our will to live is, you have to know what you want and not stray from it, instead of being weak-willed and allowing everyone to suffer, you have to learn to hurt to succeed thats what separates the people on the boat from the people under the water.

As for our jury verdict?

well they came back with a verdict of...

What exactly is shallow?

Well lets start with what the dictionary defines as shallow.

A term that is massively overused. It usually means a man/woman who only judges by looks and not by personality.

Hmm, so that's what it means to be shallow, to judge only looks and not personality....

So if I judge the person above as someone I don't want to date, does that make me shallow? I'm not factoring in her personality of course, she might be the nicest woman in the entire world, she might be funny, smart, kind, caring, understanding and athletic..... well maybe not athletic but lets say she's full of positive traits, yet I am not attracted to her, am I shallow? does that make me a bad person because I judged based on looks? hmm...

A lot of (wo)men are called shallow because they aren't willing to date someone unless they are of a certain level of attractiveness, we call these people shallow because they don't give a chance to people who Do want to date them but instead run off and try to find someone attractive, how shallow.

Yet I don't find that a bad thing, is it wrong to pursue what you want? If we compare people to jobs and everyone has a dream job and wont settle for something else, is it so different with people? if you want the person you will spend the rest of your life with to be attractive, is that a bad thing? is it Shallow?

But what if the person You like doesn't feel the same way about you? Ahh, you ask them out and they say no, That's so shallow of them, they didn't want to date me so of course the fault is with them, how rude, how hurtful how shallow.

Now the shoe is on the other foot, we are judging others for things we have all probably done in our life, we judge them for rejecting now, for making us feel bad, and to get back at them we call them shallow, hollow only interested in looks.

But I am drifting from my point here, and that is that few people are truly shallow, the rest of the people just want to be with someone they think completes them and looks are only skin deep yet thats what brings us to people, that's what makes us get close to them, but after we get close we find out there is so much more to them then just a pretty face, they have their own interests and hobbies, their own problems and pains, their own history and dreams, and we spend so much time with them we forget about their looks and focus on the things we cant see, the things that really matter underneath....

I don't think that's shallow at all ^.^

Game of thrones "Pointy end" review Part 2

Ah hello to the one other reader in my blog, I will continue part 2 of the pointy end review after last night's overwhelming response to my first review * sarcasm mode off*  so without further ado lets begin.

When we last saw Tyrion he was leaving the the Eyrie with Bronn the sellsword, We catch up with them with tyrion whistling and being told to shut-up because they are still stuck in the Vale surrounded by mountain tribes.

                                                            A loving couple

Tyrion reminds bronn that no matter what, Tyrion enjoys living over anything else and if bronn is ever offered gold to betray him, Tyrion will double that. Its a cool early defense to put up to show how cautious Tyrion is.

However bronn was right when he said all that whistling would attract the Tribsemen, Which tyrion takes advantage of by offering them the Vale in exchange for their protection, he does this by offering them his food ( its kinda like being cornered by a gang of 50 and saying " I will Give you my wallet" even though they can take it anyways :P)

He then proceeds to mock them and their weapons and reminds them that he is a lannister and with him they can take the vale, our barbarian friends are impressed and follow tyrion.

Our next scene with tyrion is him reaching the army of his father, the man who shits gold himself, Tywin lannister, and if you think Tyrion is badass, You'll find his father is even more so, played by Charles Dance, he exudes confidence and power in every word he says, and its no wonder his children are so accomplished.

He briefs his son on the current going on, telling him about Robert's death and Ned's betrayal, as well as Robb Starks rebellion against them, leaving Tyrion speechless ( a rare feat) at how much he missed, before leaving him to prepare for the oncoming battle.

Damn do lannisters have a cool sigil.

We leave the Lannisters and proceed to the other side of the war, the Starks are preparing in Winterfell Led by Robb stark, who calls all his father's friends and allies for a meeting to discuss who is in and out of their crusade.

During the meeting, some of the Lords dont want to be led by a pup like Robb, and the most vocal of them is Greatjon, a burly old man who thinks he should lead instead, and proceeds to draw his sword.

                                                      Greywind pre-asskicking someone.

In the north, drawing your sword against your lord is to face death, and when Greywind kindly reminds Greatjon about that..... by tearing off 2 fingers.

Greywind has two bones to pick with you.

After being attacked Greatjon shows why he earned the Great part in his name, by brushing off the attack and Laughing like a madman, which promopts the rest of the men to laugh as well, you know he aint so bad after all.

We then proceed to Robb's camp, its interesting to see how different the Lannister and Stark camps are, tywin lannister plans alone with his brother while Robb has everyone there to offer their opinion and battle strategy, it shows the difference between the fair Starks and the dominating Lannisters.

During that time a Lannister spy is captured, and its here that Robb shows why he leads and doesnt follow, he decides to let the spy go, an act which everyone present opposes, but Robb is merciful/confident? and lets him go anyways, an act which angers greatjon....

Random thoughts on the episode.

* Rickion is shown for the first time since episode one, For people who dont read the books its easy to forget him.
* Does anyone else find sansa to be totally unlikable? she and jeoffrey are so made for each other.... well they would be if she was his sister.
