Naruto 632 Review

Good day everyone, Naruto 632 just came out and since I cant sleep I decided to review it now instead of later, so hope you all enjoy this.

This chapter has a pretty awesome opening I must say, it seems a bit early but I think my favourite panel is just the team 7 members getting pumped up for battle, it looks pretty badass.

We get a glimpse of the other teams discussing this recent development of Sasuke helping them out, Shikimaru knows its necessary but doesnt like it, Ino and Chouji are happy to have the gang back together, Kiba makes a dumb statement about becoming Hokage and Shino rightly tells him that its no longer dramatic for someone to say they want to be Hokage after Sasuke said it.

Personally I felt that we lacked team Gai in this panel, where are they anyways? it would have been epic to have the entire Konoha 12 here...oh wait Konoha 11. I forgot.

*sigh*

Moving on, its weird to see Juugo wondering what Sasuke is thinking, does he suspect Sasuke to have some ulterior motive? and where is Orochimaru? he's the most wildcard character around right now and not knowing what he's up to is making me anxious here.

We get to see the power of the Jyuubi again where it uses its massive bijuudama again, luckily its sealed inside the barrier and cant do much, still I am getting kinda annoyed with its current form.

The barrier stops its attack and sends most of its force upwards while it still damages the Ten-Tails as well, it kinda made me wonder, why not just seal it in that barrier forever? I mean they have unlimited chakra and will stay around forever, does  this make sense to anyone else?

Hashirama makes 5 clones, 4 to let people inside the barrier and one to fight Madara, but Madara is having none of it this chapter, since he really got rejected last week he's deciding to play hard to get and ignore Hashirama's clone until the real one arrives.

I just love the above panel, but anyways Hashirama manages to trap the Jyuubi and allows his allies to enter the barrier, its interesting to see all the previous Hokages just sealing the Jyuubi instead of fighting it head on like I thought they might. I think a lot of people assumed we'd see some amazing techniques from them and while we probably will, its nice to have the younger generation take the spotlight for a while while the former Kages stand back.

The Jyuubi splits its body into many human-sized pieces, this is something new and I kinda love it really, I dont think we've ever seen another tailed beast do something like this and its quite original, although the bodies somehow remind me of Zetsu for some reason ( speaking of which, where is Zetsu anyways?)

Character time ladies and gentleman and who gets it this week? ah its Sakura's turn. First we start with some flashback to the Chuunin exam of how she always used to watch her teammate's backs and how Tsunada told her she must learn how to fight, nothing really ground-breaking here, and now we're introduced to Sakura's new power.

So its just like Tsunade's technique eh? to be honest I cant say I was much impressed with what she displayed this week, I mean Sakura had super strength since the start of part 2, whats new here exactly?

 She punches hard... thats new somehow? even with other characters looking surprised and Shizune saying she couldnt master that technique its not too impressive, then again I am probably a little bias here so forgive me if I am a little underwhelmed.

The sad thing is right after Sakura actually performs something badass, she gets in trouble again, its like Kishi cant have a strong woman who doesnt need rescuing somehow, I felt it really cheapened the moment that a second after she kicks the Jyuubi's butt, her own needs rescuing.

I cant say I liked how she only acknowledged Sasuke and ignored Naruto, maybe its funny for others but seems rather insensitive to me.

And thats pretty much it, chapter ends kinda abruptly to be honest with no big cliffhanger.

Ratings.

I have no real predictions for this chapter so I am going to skip that section, if you're interested in what I think will happen check out my reviews for previous chapters, for now I think this chapter didnt really deliver much in terms of plot, its mostly just action and while I enjoyed the first  couple of panels and seeing the Jyuubi split up was kinda cool, overall not much has changed, decent chapter but nothing outstanding and it gets a 3 out of 5 from me.

Naruto 631 Review

Hello everyone, thanks for opening this page, this week's chapter of Naruto was quite story heavy with very little action and no Kakashi, despite that though it's still a pretty solid chapter.

I liked the start of the chapter, with a dagger on a rock right before Minato transports the Jyuubi bomb there, its a small visual but it does look quite impressive for me, Sakura is confused on who this new comer is but he tells her he is Minato right before warning them of the blast, she still seems confused so either she doesn't know the name of the fourth Hokage or she's wondering what he means.



Despite how far the Bijudama is sent away, it still causes a massive shock-wave on the alliance. Our comic relief for the week comes from Minato's innocent question.

Anyone else find Naruto's answer really surprising? I mean wasn't he holding Hinata's hand? isn't that some big development in the love department? or does he somehow think he can have both girls? who does Naruto think he is exactly?

Sorry Naruto, it doesnt work like this.

Either way Sakura seems very offended by this and starts hurting Naruto, I never got this "violent girlfriend" thing that anime's love, Minato is reminded of his late wife which reminds me that Kushina did tell Naruto to marry someone like her, so in a way Sakura has both parent's blessings...

I thought the shipping war between Hinata and Sakura was over but it seems like Kishi just loves fanning the flames.

While many people said that Naruto's lack of surprise over his dad showing up was because he sent his chakra ( and this was mentioned here) I still find that to be a bit of crap, I mean even if he knew he was coming, its his dead dad showing up out of nowhere, I'd have thought he would be a lot more surprised even if he knew.

Most Epic Panel.

I Love those big cinematic panels like this one, the 4 Kages arriving all together just looks awesome, its cool how they are assembled from first to fourth as well.

Odd how Sakura can recognize the other Hokages but had to ask who Minato is but oh well.

Madara's rival has finally arrived, his long time enemy and best friend, the man he cant bear to think of yet still admires. You can see how excited Madara is to see him, while Hashirama is...decidedly less interested.

I laughed at the above panel, its just awesome to see Madara get verbally bitch-slapped like that, he's finally seeing Hashirama again and what does he get? " not now Madara, I got other things to take care of"

This chapter is a lot funnier than any other chapter that's been released in a long time.

The ten tails looks pretty damn ugly when it charges into the alliance, it is looking quite humanoid and shouldn't be too far from its final form. The Kages prepare to face it with Minato reminding us that Sasuke is on the way, oh boy another amazingly awesome entrance? yes please.

A thousand people predicted that Minato might be a jinchuriki because he has half of the kyuubi's chakra inside him and turns out they ( and I ) were right, he uses the cloak here, my guess is that although he does have its chakra, he cant replenish it, meaning he can only use it for a certain amount of time then its gone forever, unlike how a real Jincuriki works who can use more and more chakra from its tailed beast. I am not so sure of this theory though as the Gold and Silver brothers werent real Jinchuriki either but were still able to use Tailed beast chakra indefinitely.

The fourth gets high praise from both the former kages and Kurama, so in case you forgot, Minato is a badass and he works together with the 3 other kages to seal the Jyuubi. I dont understand though why Hashirama doesnt just use wood release on it to restrain it, but I am guessing this is a stronger sealing method.

I cant be the only one disappointed by the way Sasuke arrived, I mean come on.... he just pops out of nowhere with barely even a panel of attention? I read some amazing theories about how he might show up, save Naruto from some attack and say something amazing like " are you hurt, scaredy cat?"

Did we get something like that? no, did we get something almost as awesome?...no.

Boring entrance and a missed oppertunity really, but moving on, Sakura is surprised to see her old flame there and he acknowledges her for once, while a lot of the Konoha 11 decided to see if Sasuke means trouble, only one reaction really mirrored my own.

No words but you can tell from her pale eyes and rather bored expression that Hinata isn't impressed with that entrance either, I'd say he gets a 2/10 for that performance.

Sasuke announces his decision to become the Hokage, quite a bit of a change from his "destroy Konoha" attitude he has had for so long and not sure how I feel about it, still I think this will be the excuse for the Naruto vs Sasuke fight that has been the cornerstone of this manga in part 1. Everyone reacts to this news with giant eyes except Naruto who just frowns. He knows he has a serious contender for the title of Kage now.

Shino makes an appearance? holy crap and he talks? but he doesnt say much that matters, Shikimaru brings up this important fact that Sasuke may be helping them now but he is still a criminal wanted in 5 nations, showing up at the right time doesnt mean everything gets erased and I hope he wont just be forgiven for everything he's done.

Naruto though wont just stand around doing nothing, he's always wanted to be the Hokage, but all this talk is cut short when Hashirama reminds everyone that the Jyuubi must be defeated with a combined attack, I'm guessing everyone is going to throw massive attacks at it, since last week we saw that many weak walls did nothing, I guess we will instead see a few extremely powerful techniques used together.

Sakura doesnt like being left behind when Sasuke and Naruto go to fight, its a nice reminder of part 1 when she said she is always watching her team's back. I dont like violent Saukra but I quite enjoy determined helpful Sakura a lot, reminding us that every member of team 7 was trained by a Sanin was a nice callback I must say.

Good ending, lacking Kakashi though but the focus of team 7 was its relationship between its members anyways not its mentors.

Predictions.

Hmm, with so many people showing up its a little hard to think whats going to happen next but I'll take a stab at it.

* Minato and Naruto will use a combined Rasengan, we've seen a ton of times how Naruto uses that technique with shadow clones, so he and his father will perform a gigantic version of it together.

* I mentioned this in previous reviews but Minato will give the Kyuubi chakra inside him to Naruto, at the very least he proved he has some inside him in this chapter.

* Sasuke will be judged somehow for all his crimes, its too weird if after all the talk of the cycle of hatred suddenly he is forgiven despite commiting so much.

* Will there be a battle for the title of Hokage between Sasuke and Naruto? hmm.... hard to predict really but seems possible. they cant both hold it.

* More of a question than anything but is Hinata forgotten all of a sudden? I thought she and Naruto were getting serious... either way I dont think he will end up with Sakura, yes I ship NaruHina quite hard.

Rating.

Solid chapter really, but not much outstanding in it, to  be honest its a disappointment actually, the reunion of team 7 should have had a much much bigger impact yet it felt like an afterthought really, so this chapter gets a 3.5 out of 5 for me.

Naruto 630 Review.

It sure feels good to go back to having weekly chapters of Naruto, despite the way the story has been going lately I do miss it when we have a long break. Although i could just be saying this because this week's chapter was quite awesome.

This chapter opens up with by spending more time with Kakashi and Obito, Last week's ending showed us that Obito has removed his heart, now claiming that its brought him nothing but pain so why keep it? he also shows Kakashi what his dream world would be like.

Kakashi automatically rejects this illusion of his "ideal world" and I couldn't help but remember a quote from A song of ice and fire.


" Give me sweet lies and keep your bitter truths"

Obito wants his fantasy world because he simply cant handle reality, where as Kakashi knows that anything that isn't real is meaningless. In some ways this reminds me of relationships ( which Obito is sort of all about really) Obito wants the girl to like him, whether genuinely or even if she pretends to, where as Kakashi wants a real relationship, with its good and bad. Their dialogue on how to fill the heart continues this vibe of relationship talk going.

Anyways back to the Alliance, we see the Jyuubi literally open itself up and become... a flower?

Inspiring stuff by Kishi really, at first I hated this development, its too similar to every week really, Jyuubi charges up, releases some nuclear attack, people die, rinse and repeat. But this chapter actually subverted my expectations quite nicely,by having the nameless fodder-nins do something for once, and it was awesome.

The plan first starts with Shikimaru asking how to make a simple earth wall from Kitsuchi, then he told everyone the seals with Ino's help, and finally Bee will fire Biju Bombs to try to deflect it a little, its actually not a complicated plan but wasnt it nice to see someone do something new?

And whats more the plan goes exactly as Shikimaru says it will.

Before we see whether the plan works or not we take a short break where it really sounds like Obito is a guy who just recently got dumped and Kakashi is the best friend telling him things like " Its okay bro, plenty of more fish in the sea" 

 Kakashi is right, not just in the manga but in the real world as well, people will come and go in our lives, leaving it either voluntarily or because they have to, and when they do we cant sit around and sulk just because life isn't going our way, I preferred hearing this message from Kishi over having the usual repeat of " You cant cure hate" which has become incredibly dull. Learning to accept that we may be left behind in this world is a harsh but good lesson to learn, and I am glad it was brought up here quite elegantly.

Perhaps all the proof we need to know that Obito will redeem himself is a reminder of who he used to be.

Naruto is ending soon people, every author likes to have book ends, where the ending resembles the beginning and this arc has had the most callbacks so far.

Best Panel

 Last week was a decent chapter but it lacked any really amazing pages where you just go " wow", this chapter was a lot more cinematic, but the best was saved for last with Kakashi showing us who taught him how to do his awesome " show up and save everyone" entrances.

How awesome is Minato? while Kakashi shows up and saves one or two people, Minato does it to 40 thousand shinobi, that's what it means to be a Hokage.

Predictions.

* Best prediction I can make from this chapter is that Obito will die redeemed, think about it, has anyone antagonist received this much attention before they died? of course whether or not he will die is a bit of a guess but I think he will, he has committed too many evil acts to simply be allowed to live later, my best bet is he dies while transporting some major attack to another dimension, spending all his chakra doing so.

Thats all the predictions for now, I mentioned others in my previous reviews for anyone interested in them.

I feel I may have been a bit too generous in the past with my ratings, giving chapters more than they deserve so I'll be a bit less giving this week and say that while this was an excellent chapter and a big step forward for us, it still only gets a 4 out of 5.

Naruto 629 Review

Finally after 2 weeks off we get a chapter of Naruto, it felt a lot longer though since the last chapter we had also came after a 2 week break so the manga is advancing a bit slowly now.

So lets get started on this weeks chapter.

The Alliance.

The first 1/3 of this chapter focuses on whats going on at the alliance forces, last chapter had a cliffhanger ending and thats where we start, with the Jyuubi literally going nuclear on the Alliance.

And when I say Nuclear, I mean its seriously looks like some sort of nuclear strike has hit the shinobi world.

Yet somehow not even this massive explosion, which makes a crater on the landscape seems to kill anyone, the most that happens is that Naruto loses all his chakra and the other shinobi lose their defensive shield because of that.



By the way, does anyone know what technique was used to protect all the shinobi? was it just Kurama's cloak? that seems a bit cheap to me, a massive attack and all it costs is some guy's chakra.

Or maybe it cost him more than that, as this panel shows Naruto seemingly channeling the chakra of all the Tailed beasts he freed earlier to protect everyone, its still a bit of a stretch but I suppose I can believe that using the chakra of all the tailed beasts is enough to protect the whole Alliance, I do hope though that there wont be anymore of these Meteor attacks from Madara.

The Jyuubi has got to be close to its final form, its getting more and more defined as time goes on, in this panel it seems almost humanoid, which is quite similar to the Hachibi and the Kyuubi in fact, a rather human like body with its tails.

The last time we see the Alliance in this chapter is when they all stand infront of Naruto ready to protect him, not too impressive actually considering that they have lost their protection from Kurama and I cant imagine any of them being in any shape to fight, while the Jyuubi gets closer and closer to its complete form.

Kakashi and Obito.

Arguably the far superior part of this chapter is when we follow with the two former friends into the other dimension. I love the fact that they are fighting in their own world, both these men have influenced each other so much that its just fitting for them to be alone in a place no one else can reach them, because in the past they also influenced each other in a way no one else has been able to since.

The battle starts almost immediately and Kakashi goes in with Raikiri, yet before he can make the killing blow he hesitates and is unable to finish Obito off.

( How many times has Kakashi not been able to kill the person he's targeting now? Almost every killing blow he's ever made has been interrupted somehow or unsuccessful)

Its quite surprising though to see Obito receive any mercy he has, yet this isnt the first time Kakashi has shown mercy to an enemy, even Sasuke took a while to rile him up, it seems that in his heart Kakashi holds some people very dear to him and even if they are his enemies right now, he cant help himself from caring about them, perhaps not caring about who they are now, but who they were in the past.

Obito though just thinks its guilt from his failures in the past, and thats probably a factor in the way Kakashi treats him, perhaps in his mind saving Obito will relieve him of his guilt from killing Rin and you can see that in the way he keeps telling Obito that its not too late to come back and be the man he once was.

Another unsuccessful kill for the copy ninja.

Like Yahiko long before him, Obito justs walks into Raikiri, showing us just how durable he is, of course its another failed kill by Kakashi, I really think Raikiri is not as strong as people say it is, how many people has it killed so far? 2?

We get a nice bit of back story, about how Rin actually died and why, the plan of releasing the Sanbi in Konoha is quite similar to having Gaara go berzerk years later, is it possible that Akatsuki somehow planned their attack after being inspired by the Mist village? of course its Orochimaru who actually performed the attack but its been revealed recently that he may have had other reasons for attacking his home village.

Perhaps the biggest source of irony for me is how Kakashi has killed the one person he swore to protect, while failing to kill many people he has aimed for.

Obito Continues his monologue, he actually says something interesting for once since his mask has been taken off.

Troll logic to the maximum really, If I dont believe it, then its a fake and didn't happen, Obito is far gone by now and I think there is no real way to redeem him, the last visual of this chapter which shows Obito with a hole in his chest, just goes to further emphasize that Obito is in fact heartless.

Conclusion and Ratings.

 This review turned out longer than I thought, so congrats on making it this far, Not much to add to this chapter other than the Kakashi vs Obito fight being really interesting, true its not a real fight as its just one attack but Kakashi is a fascinating character and he even makes the dull Obito quite interesting.

Nothing new on the Alliance, Hyuubi attacks, some one gets injured, same old same old.

I'll rate this chapter as a 3.5 out of 5 ( and only because of Kakashi, it would get much higher if it cut out the Alliance portion of it.
