Comparing Different Ad Networks Review.

Sadly I have not been accepted for Google Adsense despite applying for them a few times, its a little disheartening but I am very interested in finding a way to monetize this blog.

So I am going to be testing out different Ad Networks to find out what their CPM rates are and use the best one hopefully. I'll be using a few over the next few weeks and this is the current list I have.

Cpmleader.
Cpmgo.
Fidelity Media.

Hopefully I can find some results that will interest other bloggers like me who cant get Adsense but still wish to benefit from their traffic, drop me a message if you have some good alternatives to the networks mentioned above.

Naruto 634 Review.

Hey everyone, the latest chapter of Naruto just came out and I'm glad I have the time to review it, luckily my final exams have been pretty easy and havent eaten the giant chunk of time I expected them to take.

To read my review of chapter 633 click here.

Last week's poll was split almost evenly between all the techniques the rookie 9 showed, Shino's bugs were considered the most impressive though so congrats to him, oddly enough Kiba who I thought displayed the most amazing skill of all ( come on, how awesome is Cerebrus?) got almost no votes at all. Anyways lets talk about this week's chapter.

The chapter starts out with a pretty sweet panel of team 7 on their respective summon, Naruto immediately asks how Gamakachi got this big, which is a fair question considering that he didn't get much bigger in the 2.5 years time skip yet he got huge since the invasion of Pein arc not too long ago, but alright lets not nitpick here.

( Anyone wondering what Bunta is doing? what is more important that fighting the Jyuubi right now?)

Its interesting to see the sheer size of the Jyuubi when compared to the summons, they seem tiny next to it and their gigantic in their own rights.

I gotta admit, I like the new snake summon, I think this is the first snake summon we get who isn't a complete jackass, the Mandas were pretty annoying but this new guy is quite awesome. Also some people seem to think its wrong that Sasuke can still summon snakes but that seems pretty normal to me, he probably made a pact with them just like Naruto did with the toads.

Its weird to think though that while the new generation of Sanin get their own summons, Sakura is stuck with Katsuya again, would have been interesting if she got her own summon like her team mates did.

So team 7 charges ahead with their summons, well 2/3 of them do and Sakura stays behind, a little disappointing in my opinion that she isn't going forward and killing stuff to, I mean all she did since her big powerup was one gigantic punch and then summoning Katsuya to heal, I would have liked a big more punching from her. But it seems we wont be getting that.

Loving the combination of Susanno and Aoda, by combining the massive mobility of the snake with the sheer power of Susanno, Sasuke is really a lethal force. I get the feeling this might be a foreshadow of a Kyuubi/Susanno combo in the future, something we already saw Madara perform in the past.

We get a small montage of the rookie 9 wishing the best, and yet again, Lee and Tenten are gone. What is up with that? I mean sure Lee already had a small moment when he and Naruto attacked the Uchiha duo like 10 chapters ago, but since then he's been missing for too long. You'd think Tenten as one of the best long range fighters would be seen throwing some kunai or something but nope, she's invisible too it seems.

Also Sakura sure seems awfully proud of Sasuke this chapter too, crying just from watching his techniques? yeah sorry Naru/Saku fans, Kishi is killing that pairing hard.

The wind/fire combo was mentioned 300 chapters ago and its nice to see it finally combined here between Sasuke and Naruto, and whats more it looks like it actually did damage the Jyuubi for once ( which it will heal off by the next chapter of course). The combination though did kind of make Naruto say something a little weird.

Well, whatever makes you happy Naruto.

Juugo sure gets a lot of attention for a guy who just stands around doesn't he? and it seems Sai might be suspecting something as well, I like this development a lot, its nice to think that Sasuke might have some hidden motives for what he does rather than just being this good guy all of a sudden.

Love this last panel, after weeks of speculating what Orochimaru is doing and where he is, we finally find out, he's gone to help Tsunade, and that's probably why he needed Karin as well since she's an amazing sensor and could help him find her ( also for her healing abilities as well). Whether or not Orochimaru intends to help though is another question, but this is honestly one of the best cliffhangers we've had for a long time and I'm excited for next week's chapter.

Predictions.

Obviously the biggest  prediction to make right now is what is Orochimaru up to? he's either there to kill the Kages ( or in some way harm them) Or he's there to heal them, me I don't think he means to help them, it just doesn't seem like something he would do. Then again a reunion of those two Sannin is quite exciting to look forward to.

Rating.

A really good chapter this week, which is a relief considering how last week was pure fanservice, while the story didnt actually move forward much here, the pieces were set up nicely, mainly with Orochimaru, its amazing how that guy can make a chapter better just by appearing in one panel, but he pulls it off here nicely, this chapter gets a 4 out of 5 from me.

Dota 2 Guide: Picking the Right Position for Your Team.

For some reason, choosing the right title for a guide turned out to be much more complicated than I thought, but nevertheless welcome to my guide on picking the right position for your team.

Now a lot of people forget this, but Dota 2 is a team game. Oh you know this do you? well sadly even the people who do know this seem to ignore one crucial fact, when you play a team game, you have to fill in the weaknesses that your team has, not play however you want to every game.

So while a lot of times you'll be stuck with a group of people who seem like they have only used computers for 3 days, you still need to learn to play with that group of monkeys, and to do that means learning what position your allies will play so you don't conflict with any of them.

Now what are positions to begin with?

Dota 2 is made of 5 man teams, which means there are 5 positions to play of course, the positions are based on how much farm the player will get compared to his team mates, this is how professional teams are split into, with positions from #1 ( most farm) to #5 ( you wont experience the feeling of actually getting gold).

Difference between position and role.

Too often people confuse a hero's Role with his Position. An example for this is someone like Earthshaker, who usually plays the team's initiator. No matter how much farm he gets or what items he has, its usually best if ES goes in first ( with the help of a Blink Dagger) and casts all his spells while his team later comes in and cleans up.

No matter if ES is played as a #2 or a #5, that's his Role, which has no effect on his Position in the game ( although what your position is greatly affects how well you can perform you role).

So whether you play Dragon Knight as a tank, or a DPS, in both cases you will almost always want to be the #1 on the team.

Position #1 AKA The Hard Carry.

Commonly used heroes include:

The hard carry is the role most players want to play, why? because its simply the greediest role in the game, playing #1 means you will hoard every creep, kill and jungle camp you can, all for the sake of getting enough gold and Exp to win the game in the late stages for your team.

This position requires excellent last hitting skills, as well as knowing how to control the lane well, a Carry must also know which fights he can take and which one ones to avoid since dying in this position really punishes your farm and gold.

Carries will typically get most of their gold from creeps in the lane, they will rarely leave to assist their team in ganks and will mostly stay where they are for the duration of the game. After farming enough gold they become powerhouses later on.

Overall though, this is not a very hard role to play, it does place a lot of pressure on the player to perform very well, but with two people protecting you ( the supports) its a fairly easy role to do.

Position #2 AKA The Mid Laner.

Commonly used heroes include:

Ah yes, the #2 position, in my opinion this position requires the most skilled player on the team to play, mainly because the heroes used in this role will get the most amount of Exp and farm early game ( more so than the #1, since Carries share the lane Exp with their supports and sometimes cant last hit due to being harassed).

Playing #2 requires a player who is able to snowball the game for his team, a fed QOP early on can easily get a few kills on the enemy heroes, putting her team ahead and hurting the opposition.

#2 will get most of their gold from both a combination of creeps from the laning phase and kills later on.

The reason I believe this position requires a lot of skill is because it depends almost entirely on the player, sure you have supports who will tell you where the rune spawns and which enemies are missing, but other than that, its you vs the enemy middle player and whoever wins can really snowball for his team.

Position #3 AKA The Offlaner.

Commonly used heroes include:

Arguably the hardest role to play, #3 requires a very specific type of player for it, and that's the very patient type. Playing the Off laner means that you probably will not get so much gold or exp, however you can still get decent farm because the heroes used for this role are able to farm from a distance, using some form of long range spells or summons to farm for them.

#3 players will usually get a little of their gold from creeps (since often they will face the enemy tri-lane and wont have much of an opportunity to last hit)  but will make up for their deficit by ganking a lot and securing kills for their team.

The hard lane is called the hard lane for a reason, players here usually match up against the enemy carry+ 2 supports, meaning they cant go close to the creeps without risking almost assured death, forcing them to tower hug, this is why I believe this role is hard as players have to be patient and not take any risks that would hurt their team.

Position #4 AKA The Secondary Support.

Commonly used heroes include:

Ah yes, the first of the support positions needs quite a bit of farm actually, since most games consist of tri lanes which have a carry and two supports, one of these supports has got to be the backup in case the carry dies or has to return to the base to heal, during that time one of the two supports should be farming the lane and that is the #4 position.

Made of heroes who need 1 or 2 items to fully utilize their potential, a good example of this is Sand King, who has a very powerful ultimate that requires a long channeling time, players must be able to farm a blink dagger on him otherwise his ulti loses a lot of its effectiveness.

Another way to play the secondary support is by jungling, Chen with a Mekansm is a very potent and strong healer, Enigma is another good secondary support who can farm his Blink while in the forest and assist in ganks when he is needed, overall the secondary support usually only buys wards, dusts and such items when the primary support cant, in the mean time they try to get items that boost their overall team effectiveness like Meka, Pipe and Drums.

Position #5 AKA The Primary Support ( AKA Ward Bitch).

Commonly used heroes include:

The role that gets the least praise in Dota 2, the #5 consists of heroes that have very strong abilities who don't need items to function for their team, sure items are nice on any hero but #5 can function quite well without them.

The reason this role is quite hated by the community is because it requires the player to sacrifice any personal glory for the sake of the team, #5 will not get kills, will not get creeps, will not get gold and will be focused in every team fight because the hero is usually under farmed and under leveled, but that's the price players have to pay to play this role, which while underrated is just  as important as any other role, without someone who wards the map, protects the carry, calls missing enemies and generally keeps an eye on the game, the team cant function.

Pretty much the only way this role gets gold is by having assists in kills and maybe some deaths if no one else on his team can secure the kill. Other than that it will be very difficult to get gold as their role doesn't allow for much jungling or killing.

The hard part about this role is learning that what the team needs > whatever you want, if you have gold to buy boots but you see that the enemy brood mother is getting farmed, its better for you to buy a sentry and go stop her than buy boots and let her continue farming, sadly not all players can think this way and that is why this role is probably the most misunderstood in the game.

So whats the point of learning all this?

The reason I wrote this guide explaining the different roles is so that new players should see what their team is made of before picking whatever hero they want, if you see an ally is using Faceless void then forget about playing #1 in that game, its already taken, sometimes all positions will be taken except #3 or #4 so learn what your allies are picking and fill in whatever your team is lacking, this is a team game so sometimes its best to sacrifice what you want and win, than pick Troll warlord and lose.

Even if your carry plays like this.

Its hard to live up to People's Expectations.

When I was a kid, I remember being quite careless, being the youngest in the family meant I could afford to be that way and looking back at that time I kinda wish it had lasted longer.

The thing is, when people are careless, cruel or stupid, nobody has any expectations from them, why should they? they cant do anything so in return nobody asks them for anything, think of some idiot you know, do you expect them to do anything amazing anytime soon? probably not and you know what they are happier because of that.

When nothing is expected there is no pressure, just doing the bare minimum is more than enough, which makes me think that being cruel and stupid is the easiest way to be happy in this world.

If you're cruel, than nobody will ask you for anything, they have learned that cruel people will always say no, which means you have all the time in the world for yourself, you're not helping anyone so your time is your own and the thing is, cruel people don't have the conscience to feel guilty when they refuse to help anyone. They wont feel bad about refusing to do a favor for someone, unlike the rest of us who have to live with the guilt of knowing we might have helped someone but couldnt.

The idiots of the world are equally lucky in this regard, because they aren't exactly capable of doing much, people also avoid asking them for anything, not exactly for the same reason as they avoid asking cruel people but because they know that asking an idiot for help wont exactly turn out well for them.

Caring and helping people leads to them expecting you will always do the same for them, its the natural risk you take every time you do a favor for someone, lend someone money once and you will become the first person they ask the next time they need help. And should you refuse them they will forget every single instance of help you offered and focus on this one time that you said no.

Thats the sad price people pay for doing any sort of good deed, which they dont have to pay if they simply refuse to help anyone, how much easier would life be ( for some people) if they just stopped helping others and focused on themselves?

The other day I was in my university, tired and sleepy and I didnt have classes for hours, but on the way to my room I met someone I knew who had an exam in 2 hours and needed someone to tutor him, I cant say I was eager to help but I agreed to, here's someone who needs my help and its not like it costs me much.

Half way through teaching him I asked why he didn't just study with one of his classmates and he told me that they had agreed to study this morning but instead his classmate had slept and didn't bother to wake up and help him, I wondered then who was happier, me helping this guy I barely knew wishing I could be sleeping, or his lazier friend who hadnt cared enough to help him.

The sad part is now I am expected to help every time he needs to study, which puts me in an awkward position of not really wanting to help but also not wanting to disappoint the poor guy.

Life would be easier if people didn't expect anything from others, doing nice things would be easier cause we know its a one time event instead of worrying that people will start relying on us, which they eventually do if we are nice enough for a long enough time.

Hmm, I didn't think this post would go like this when I started but I guess I'm glad I ranted in the end. Life is complicated and honestly keeping others expectations of us low seems like the much simpler and happier way to live, or at least I believe so.

Naruto 633 Review.

Hello everyone, Naruto 633 just came out and seeing how I cant sleep I'll be reviewing it now instead of later.

To check out my review of last week's chapter Click here.

This chapter has a pretty awesome opening I must say, right after Naruto and Sasuke come to the rescue, they start analyzing each other and their abilities, its a great moment that shows just how deep the rivalry between those two guys runs.

But if last week's chapter had the goal of evolving Sakura's character, chapter 633 aims to show the strength of the rookie 9 ( since Lee and Tenten sat out this week's chapter as well).

Our first contestant is Kiba's fusion with Akamaru and another clone, its very visually impressive and we saw the power of the double headed wolf way back when they fought against sakon and ukon.

Favorite Panel

Kiba's wolf is just very visually impressive, I always love the idea of Cerebrus ( 3 headed dog who guards the gates of hell) so its cool to see something like this in Naruto.

Shino Uses some sort of bug implantation into the enemy's flesh, the bugs would then eat through the enemy, a useful jutsu in a 1 v 1 situation yes it looks a bit too slow to be useful against a large number of enemies.

Hinata's dedication is fun to watch, she never gives up just like Naruto, its actually kinda cool to see how Naruto's influence even makes her stronger, the shot of Neji's advice on how to finish the 64 Palm strikes was quite heart warming.

So we're done with team 8 now, a team that is skilled in tracking their enemies, now lets focus on the team that practically screams teamwork since their first appearance, team 10.

Unlike the other teams that showcased their individual ability, team 10 shows how they have become one unit, one ability, and theirs is the most impressive display of all so far.

They combine all their techniques and basically perform a human yo-yo sort of technique, where first Shikimaru would attach his shadow to Chouji, who would use the size enlargment technique thing, then Ino would sense the presence of all the enemies and by entering Shikimaru she can manipulate Chouji to destroy them all. Its not as complicated as this explanation makes it sound, promise.

Throughout all this, have we forgotten someone? anyone? hmm....

Perhaps of all of this chapter's demonstrations, Sai's is the most...erm, well sad to be perfectly frank, he tries to attack the Jyuubi's main body head on but loses his bird and has to be rescued by Naruto.

Then again, there is no actual point to all these technique demonstrations, because what did they achieve? there is no story relevance, nothing actually happens or any real damage is performed, some fodder got killed and was replaced with bigger fodder.  Thats almost the entire summary of this chapter to be perfectly honest.

Still we got some impressive visuals and the chapter does end with team 7 all summoning their animals, its another impressive panel and brings hope that maybe next chapter will have more plot than this chapter full of fan-service.

Predictions.

Since nothing actually happens here, I am just going to post my predictions from previous chapters that I still believe in.

* I mentioned this in previous reviews but Minato will give the Kyuubi chakra inside him to Naruto, at the very least he proved he has some inside him in this chapter, we also see that Kurama needs time to make his chakra and I think thats just more hints for this.

*Orochimaru is still the most likely person to be the Ten-Tail Jinchuriki, since only Obito can do it and he's far away with kakashi that only leaves Orochimaru as the other possible candidate, aside from him who else is there? Madara is a zombie and cant do it which leaves no one else really.
Aside from those the other predictions are small scale and not worth bringing up again.
Ratings.

I didnt like this chapter, why? because its all style and no substance, we see some flashy moves and thats it, maybe this is a setup chapter and the next few will have some story, maybe Kishi wants to focus on action right now, but whatever the reason, I am a little tired of this Jyuubi arc, where everything seems very repetitive. Naruto 633 gets a 2 out of 5 for me.

Fate/Zero Review.

Have you ever loved someone who turned out to be related to a person you hate? You know that family with two completely different siblings, one who is an angel and another who was spawned straight from the depths of hell?

Kinda like Tard and Pokey.

If yes then that's basically the relationship between Fate/Zero and Fate Stay Night.

FSN was an anime I accidentally watched one day while tv browsing, it sounded interesting and it did have a decent first episode, plus the concept of the show was cool, 7 mages facing each other using famous heroes from history sounded awesome.

Sadly the show never really felt like it took advantage of its concept at all, instead of showing us the 7 masters it instead was made into a pretty bad harem genre of a show, with the main hero living with 4 women who loved him. The show only focused on the story long after it wasted too many episode at which point it just wasn't important anymore.

Oh sure it had some action and an actual story but they all felt like a side-story with a horrible love triangle being the focus on the show, the show might have been better received if it had better dialogue but we don't even get that in FSN.

With all this in mind, I wasn't expecting much when I started watching F/Z, I was worried it would take an impressive concept and then ignore it like FSN before it, so I had low expectations from the start.

Man was I wrong, F/Z does everything right, and by that I mean everything, its incredible in everything it does, so I'm just gonna praise it in different categories.

Animation.

The animation in F/Z is truly remarkable, I've never seen an anime as visually impressive as F/Z, the anime has 25 episodes and all of them are just beautiful to look at.

Even an image of books looks good in this series.

The animation in F/Z usually has a dark tint to it as most scenes take place at night or in dark places, which gives the show a suitable vibe as it is quite dark show as well, its a very fitting combination where the art is perfect for the story it tells .

The animation also does something quite innovative by adding in 3D technology into scenes, its not exactly the first show to do it but it adds a lot to some scenes, particularly the character of Berzerker who is fully CGI,  the CGI sometimes looks amazing and sometimes seems very awkward ( and I am being kind here by replacing the word bad with awkward).

Still despite occasionally bad CGI and a few off-model shots, the animation is amazing for this show, words cant really do justice to the animation so here's a video of what you can expect to see ( This is a battle from the fifth episode, its a good peek of of the animation quality).

Story

The story in F/Z is quite simple, every 60 years the Holy Grail materializes in the world and picks 7 mages to fight for it, the Holy Grail grants a wish to the winning mage who is able to defeat or kill all the other mages.

To aid every mage they are granted a Servant, and every Servant is from a famous legend like King Arthur or a historic figure like Alexander the great. These Servants also get to have their wish granted for them if they win along with their master, so everyone enters the Holy Grail war intending to win.

FSN did the story horribly by not focusing on the war between masters, but luckily F/Z learns its lesson well and shows us all the masters and their servants with the story being incredibly character driven, nothing happens just out of luck or for no reason, the story moves along because the masters come up with new tactics to use so that they may defeat their enemies.

The story is very well written I must say and its amazing to find a show that talks about what is right and what is wrong in such a way, can you kill a thousand people to save a million? whats is the price of victory? would you sacrifice all you have to win?

F/Z has a lot of action scenes but even more scenes where characters simply sit around and talk to each other about their thoughts, dreams and how they feel. In fact one episode is simply 3 servants sitting together discussing what it means to be a king, with each one thinking they know the right path to ruling.

The cool thing about having different ideologies and beliefs in the world is that none of them are treated like they are wrong or right, every person justifies what they believe in and the show doesn't try to tell us what we should think in, it only shows us and allows us to judge for ourselves, quite deep for an anime.

Characters.

What makes the story in F/Z work so well is how it uses compelling characters to tell it, all with very distinct personalities and motivations. Despite a large cast of characters though the show gives each enough time so they all feel like they are telling their own story, although some characters get much more development and screen time than others.

Rider is one of my favorites, possessing a huge body and an even bigger personality, he is summoned by Waver who is just a small boy learning magic and wants to prove himself, Rider and Waver develop one of the most interesting relationships on the show, with Waver learning to follow Rider more and more as time goes on despite the fact that he is the master and Rider is his servant, because of his funny personality ( which stands out a lot in this very grim show) and the way he plays a father-figure to his master, Rider is easily a fan-favorite, although he shares my spot of favorite servant with...

Berserker is perhaps the exact opposite of Rider in every way, while Rider is the most talkative Berserker is the quietest ( except when he's yelling of course), Rider tries to guide his master to be a better person, Berserker drains so much life-force from his master he is actively killing him.
Berserker is another favorite of mine simply because he is incredibly awesome every time we see him, he is always pulling of an impressive feat, plus he has an amazing design, another thing that helps him is the fact that his master is my favorite master of all.

Matou Kariya has perhaps the most selfless reason to enter the Grail War, the daughter of the woman he loves has been taken and the only way to free her is an exchange, the Grail for the girl and for that he enters the war to try to win it and perhaps along the way win the heart of the woman he loves.

Kariya is a fascinating character who is forced into bad situations a lot, his unrequited love for a woman who married his rival is fascinating to watch, its sort of like friendzone level 99 really but its played out incredibly tragic.

F/Z benefits greatly from a wide variety of characters so everyone will walk away with their own set of favorites.

Sadly its not perfect.

F/Z is amazing yet it does have its share of flaws, minor flaws but they are still there, perhaps the biggest flaw of the show is the pacing, the anime is split into 2 seasons, with 13 episodes in season 1 and 12 in season 2, however because the studio wanted to end season 1 on a cliffhanger they slowed the story down a bit and made the pacing a bit slow, even adding one filler episode that doesn't do anything for the show, because of that season 1 while very amazing, tends to feel a bit slow and dragged out at some points.
Not sure if this counts as a flaw for the show but its quite short, at only 25 episodes it leaves you wanting more, unlike other shows that have over 100 episodes, F/Z's modest number feels quite sad, especialy since more episodes could have added some extra characterization to some characters who really needed it.

Due to the pacing issues the studio also ultimately decides to cut one characters backstory completely which hurts him quite a bit, apart from that though the show doesn't do much wrong, with occasional bad animations being the worse.

While not exactly a flaw of the show, its best to remind people that this is quite a violent and bloody show with quite a few graphic images, whether this is a flaw is up to viewers though.

Conclusion.

Overall though F/Z is the perfect anime and the best I've ever seen, the show is extremely well done and everyone should check it out, not just anime fans but everyone else too.
