Naruto 560 Review

Hey everyone, its been too long since I the last time I reviewed Naruto, life has recently been very hectic and I havent had the time I needed to review, but thankfully at least I have the chance to write about this awesome chapter.

Our chapter starts with a beautiful panel of ma-Tobi staring intensely at us, Unluckily this is all we see of Tobi for this chapter as the scene follows Madara and Muu engaging the long range division + Naruto.
Madara immediately notes his enemies all have one kind of forehead protector while Onoki tells us that he has no idea who the man in the mask is, in my opinion that might mean that whoever Tobi is, is someone who is thought to be long dead.

Madara knows who the man in the mask is though, unfortunately he doesnt refer to him by name, but he does say that things arent going according to plan, which hints that Madara must know who Tobi is, Madara then asks who is using Impure Resurrection...

Kabuto introduces himself to Madara, I had originally thought that Kabuto talked to the person in the coffin before he showed him to Tobi but this is their first meeting together, I like how Madara dismisses Kabuto just like Tobi did.

Its kinda funny to think how Kabuto knew Tobi wasnt Madara from their first meeting, it puts all their previous conversations in a new light.

Kabuto then proceeds to tell Madara about how his summoning is special and he is "beyond himself at his prime"   Their conversation is cut short by an attack from Gaara.

Madara decides to prove himself as the greatest Uchiha, and what better way then showing his mastery of fire techniques?

While ugly, the above images shows the allies working together well, I love elements and was impressed by how quickly the cannon fodder managed to make a wall of water to protect themselves, against someone of Madara's power this is quite a show.

Madara then proceeds to go into good old fashioned Taijutsu, moving like a cyclone he cuts up members of the alliance while Naruto prepares himself to take him on, Gaara's protective nature shows itself again as he protects a fellow ninja from Madara's sword, then proceeds to grab it while another shinobi holding something suspiciously similar to Zabuza's sword, plan doesnt work though but the Ninja army does show that its not useless in this chapter.

Muu, finding the killing too slow for his liking tries to aid Madara but luckily while split from his body he cannot use Dust techniques, Onoki not realising this tells the sensors to keep an eye on Muu anyways.

I love the teamwork in this picture, all the allies immediately retreat as Naruto approaches, knowing how large his area of effect is, while Onoki raises the ground itself to give Madara less time to react to Naruto's technique, the whole plan is helped by just how beautiful the whole page is.

Its all for naught though as Madara reveals that he himself has ( Perhaps the original?) Ultimate defense.

Madara's Susanoo looks the closest to Satan that we have seen so far, which ties in well to what the Kyuubi said, that Madara has more evil chakra then it does, Onoki doesnt seem to know that Madara has Susanoo and the Mangkyo Sharingan, I'm guessing that they had their fight before Madara acquired those powers, showing how much Madara has improved since then as well as how old Onoki is ( he fought pre-mangkyo Madara :/  )

Gaara and Naruto have a plan to handle this though, what is this Plan G? the allies really are working well with co-ordinating and figuring out the enemy, Madara, wanting to be productive decides to kill some no-names while he waits for their next attack.

Another impressive attack ( Yes you can make a drinking game out of how much I praised the alliance army this review) Naruto charges in with his Rasenshuriken and Gaara does a trick we just saw earlier this chapter...

Madara gets dragged around a lot doesnt he?
A rasenshuriken that close, no way it can miss right?

Unless of course Madara is like Pein and has some sort of Preta path to absorb Chakra but that would be a ridicules asspu-

 .....Oh...

Madara reminds us of why he is the strongest uchiha by activating the Rinningan, it seems that Kakashi might be right and that it is just some sort of mutation, Tobi saying he "gave" it to nagato might be further evidence of that...

Kabuto seems to think the same thing also, or at least that the Rinnengan is a stage higher then the eternal Mangkyo sharingan ( this news will make Uchiha fans so happy)...

Kabuto thinks that with Madara he now has some powers of the sage himself, but even dead and decaying Madara proves to us just how defiant he is.

Two heads are not better then one in this situation!
Madara has taken everything we know and taken it up a notch ( or 12) by using a two headed Susanno which can apparently use seals itself we are in for a show.

Our chapter ends with its best panel, a giant metorite is heading towards the allied army and there really doesnt seem to be anyway to get rid of it, with our heroes trapped underneath it, its unlikely everyone will get out alive.... ( Short of Kakashi wrapping it away or Onoki using some amazing technique)

And thats all folks, hope you enjoyed this review, I know i certainly missed writing all this stuff, till ( Hopefully) next week and have a great week

Survivor South Pacific episode 5 review

Howdy, sorry for missing last episode's review, damn life is getting in the way of blogging for you guys.

Well lets get to it :D

-After the recap we get the touching Stacy-Christine reunion, Stacy getting so much attention pretty much confirms that she will lose redemption island, or atleast she should, her damn cliches are getting annoying.

"The grass is always greener on the other side"
And her chucky cheese too.

-Albert is a pretty smart guy, my bet for an Upolu player winner.

- Coach has an interesting response to Redemption island, informing the tribe that his own mom calls him coach since he was 18....
Does anyone else think that Coach might be the sane one in family?

-Ozzy is being quite an ass to Cochran, course he is doing it to impress his bimbo of the season.

-Speaking of Elice, whats up with her and coch?

-Ozzy revealing that Coach should vote out Albert was a big mistake, you dont say something like that when you're standing next to the strongest guys in the tribe.

-Albert is reading the signs right, but showing his clue to Coach and Sophie really just confirms what stacy said about who runs the tribe.

-Coach with the HII? that used to be just a myth, but now it actually happened, Coach has grabbed the game by the balls, he even told his "little dragon" to go back inside the tent....

-Cochran is a bit too judgmental on Ozzy, the guy fishes for you dude and he gets fish, fishing aint as easy as chopping coconuts.

-Rick got a line this episode!, sure it was short but "thats nice"

-Disgusting challenge, I think they did this in amazon right? either way it was just gross

-Close as hell, the two tribes really are well matched and it comes down to just two ounces, who will win this?

-Its official, God has joined Coach's fan club, if you thought coach was sitting pretty before, well he now has the Almighty on his side.....oh and Brandon

-For your reward, you can take all the food you spit on, nice.

-Did Albert remind you of anyone when he ate the reward? anyone? "Oh my god its so good"

"You cannot fathom the goodness that it is"
-So its the showdown we have all been waiting for, Ozzy vs Jim ( or Cochran, but I think Jim was the guy who got the plan to go down)

-Jim really showed his survivor-smarts this episode, utilizing Ozzy's single mistake to get rid of his best ally? I like it.

-Keith is the swing vote on this, its too bad that he seems so slow on the uptake, no Keith, you dont tell Ozzy you're voting out his strongest ally.

-Whitney mentions how she wants to weazel out of the vote, foreshadowing anyone? but then again survivor is all about foreshadowing.

-Tribal therapy starts and Jeff focuses early on the challenge and asks about their injuries, I personally loved the fact that Dawn lost a tooth and just doesnt care, woman is tough.

-Did anyone feel really bad for Cochran this tribal? most of his tribe took crap shots on him and it was just heartbreaking, especially as i find this his funniest tribal so far.

-Whitney and Keith worked well in this, they appeared ignorant or weak to the rest of the tribe while getting rid of who they wanted, swing votes are dangerous as hell.

-Bye bye Elice, looks like Christine might have a tough Redemption challenge for once.

And thats all folks, hope you enjoyed the episode as much as i did as well as this review.

Survivor South Pacific episode 3 review

Hello and welcome to my very first Survivor review, while I had hoped to review the first two episodes I'll be content with starting from the third episode for now.

Anyways on to the review

After the vote.

After voting out Christie we see her arrival at Redemption Island complaining about how much she dislikes coach calling him " King farook", since we dont get any interview from samhar I took that as a hint that Samhar is leaving the game.

Back on camp Brandan is starting to feel a bit guilty as he should, although he is still trying to get mikayla voted out.

Redemption island.

Coach really wants to go to redemption island to see Christie leave the game, somewhat petty of him but hey thats Coach for you? his tribe letting him go shows that Coach does have some standing with them, Stacy also wants to go, to support her (only?) ally in the game.

The challenge is the same as the final challenge in Samoa with the contestents holding a stick with an idol on top, really thats pretty much it.

Before we start we are treated to one of Samhar's.....Poems where she talks about getting naked and having 10 children and then another, at least the everyone else seemed as annoyed by it as me.

Challenge begins with Probst telling the the duelist to " get it where you want it" Really Probst?
From the start Samhar seems to lack the focus that Christie has, Christie wants it and she holds it with a deathgrip, while Samhar swayed a few times until finally...

Yeap Samhar is the first person out of the game, but before she left she gave Christie her jacket and that was a sweet gesture.

Back in camp

Brandan decides that its time his whole tribe knows who he is, so he gathers his whole tribe and shows them his tattoos, which didnt seem to get much of a reaction ( except for a jawdrop from stacy)
Personally I dont see what he gets from telling them he is related to Russel, hell even coach thinks that Brandon made a mistake, Coach does seem to be playing the game differently this time doesnt he?

After making a scene Brandon decides to get even more attention by having a confrontation with Mikayla when she asks him if he wants her gone and he goes completely defensive and then has the nerve to say that he is trying to apologize, wonder what he looks like when he is trying to threaten someone?

To prove his sanity, Brandon gathers his tribe Again, this time to get them to tell Mikayla that the tribe doesnt trust her and asking them who is loyal to her, the scene only truly becomes ironic when Brandon goes " just keep me out of the drama, god!"

Brandon's little outburst does nothing except make him and Mikayla cry, sad moment really :/

To have Coach point out the idiocy in Brandan's actions makes it obvious just how much of loose cannon brandon is.

Immunity Challenge

I dont like those duel immunity/reward challenge, get rid of Redemption island and give us back the good old 2 challenge an episode days.

Probst describes the challenge, its one of those physical followed by puzzle challenges, but it is new at least.

for Savaii Ozzy and Dawn are the runners, Savaii has trouble just giving Ozzy enough rope to get his flags, while Upolu has Albert, Mikayla and brandon as their runners, advantage shifts back and forth and both tribes reach the puzzle part at the same time, and here Coach gets Upolu a big advantage by hooking all five of their pieces at record piece, if you cant tell by now yes Coach did impress me a lot this episode.

Probst: Coach is getting all the pieces, what a great hooker
Upolu finishes the puzzle before Savaii even unwraps all their pieces, while the first few challenges were close this was Upolu's day.

Savaii heads back dejected and its immediately obvious that its Papa bear or Cochran for the chop, the alliance of Ozzy decide to vote out PB but tell Cochran that they will tell PB that they are voting Cochran tonight so Papa Bear doesnt ask any questions, yeah.....that'll help Cochran's security issues.

Sensing his tribe is lying to him PB decides to take matter into his own hands and rushes into the forest, making sure he is seen in the process, he then digs a hole in the ground and comes back to camp " with a noticeable Bulge in his pants" as Cochran describes it, his tribe are worried about PB's bulge and everyone wonders if he has the immunity idol...

Except Ozzy who already has it of course, lets hope he knows when to use it this time.

Tribal council

A rather dull TC this time, nothing really noticeble happened and after an explosive tribal last week this TC just felt stale.

Cochran tries to convince everyone that he isnt a physical weakness while PB tries to convince them that he is.

I wasnt quite sure who was going to get voted out, but i was leaning towards PB as he was given quite a lot of screentime this week, and my predictions were...

Correct, for once :D

Papa Bear got voted out, despite the fact that the tribe thought he might have had an idol, wonder if anything happened behind the scenes to convince them otherwise?

Next week is Papa Bear vs Christie for redemption ( On the fence on who to support for that) While Cochran grasps power in his tribe and Brandan costs even more drama despite trying to keep out of any drama in his tribe.

Survivor: South Pacific pre-season thoughts.

Hey everyone, Survivor is coming back ( like it always does, after 22 season can that show die?) and with its new season called Survivor: South Pacific they will future the same "twists" that they did in the last season, which are The Returning players and Redemption island.

The Returning players.

Lets start with a short history lesson shall we?

Last season started this new tradition of putting in two old players along with new contestants, before this we had 2 all stars seasons and one  fan vs fan favorites season, season 20 named Heroes vs Villains showed us one of the greatest survivor rivalries ever, the one between Boston Rob and Russel Hants, as a guy who watched about 15 seasons of survivor ( yes I skipped a few that I hear sucked a bit) it definitely set up season 20 as something special.
So who won?

Russel won their rivalry  ( dont get mad at me, I am just stating who got voted out first) during the reunion show Rob challenged Russel and said he could "kick his ass all over the island" and that comment brought us Survivor Redemption Island.

After such an epic rivalry and indeed epic season CBS decded it cant just end at that, we need more R &R and brought both these players back for season 22.

Unfortunately,  Season 22 bombed.Hard. it wasnt a complete train wreck, but I reckon I'll never watch it again.

Firstly there wasnt any Rob vs Russel, which is odd considering that Jeff Probst in one of his youtube videos said it "plays out nicely, you'll all love it"  Instead they were put on different tribes and didnt speak to each other until Russel was sent to Redemption Island....

After Russel got voted out, the show quickly devolved to focus on Rob and Rob alone, with perhaps a bit of Philip if you're (un)lucky.

“Hell hath no fury like a lion and a gorilla when he thinks he’s been provoked.”
So season 22....a bad spot in survivor really, But unlike my initial thoughts that both the Returning players and Redemption island will be scrapped, both have returned.

So who is coming back this season?

If you havent heard yet, there will be 18 players this season, 16 new contestants and two "Favourites" and who are our two returning players?

Well the first one is a famed warrior, a wizened philosopher, a noble soul,  a man far traveled who has gone to the ends of the world and beyond and trained in martial arts passed from generation to generation,he is a warrior, a poet, a Dragonslayer.

Coach is back for the third time, debuting in Survivor Tocantines coach has been quite a dividing individual, most people either love him or hate him, he's that kind of character where you either despise everything he does or enjoy them.

Is coach coming back a good thing?

Well Coach gets a lot of focus, no doubt about that, not as bad as Rob last season but he takes up a lot of screen time, however to be honest I find coach to be entertaining, I mean who came up with lines like " “Sierra is the bowl movements that comes out of the dragon." Or another like " As iron sharpens iron, so must man sharpen man" Who can come up with gold like that?

I wrote a poem too
If Coach doesnt steal the show completely, then I have no real problem with him, sure its unfair for survivor to put back people who have played before (Twice!) instead of new players who havent had a chance yet, but its their show, we can complain about it all we want, but we cant really change that.

As for the second returning player?

Well he's not really as prominent as coach, he played in the Cook Islands ( an underrated season) and Fans vs favorites and is generally a decent guy, he is probably more famous for his challenge prowess then anything else.

Manly hairstyle
Oscar Ozzy also comes back to play the game for the third time, unlike the other 3 returning players Ozzy isnt as much of a base breaker so there isnt as much to say about him.

Whether this season works better then the last will determine a lot on how much attention those returning players get, Redemption island ignored everyone that wasnt Rob and gave him his own show and while  Rob did some pretty outstanding moves ( throwing a clue into a volcano after reading it? Beautiful) he made the season practically unwatchable after the 4th episode.

Still it remains to be seen how it will play out with these two, its already been announced that they will be on opposite tribes ( Upolu and Savaii) and hey at least one person is happy to have those two back

So thats our first twist, whats the second one?

Redemption Island is back

Redemption island returns this season, with a bit of changes this time.

If you didnt watch the last season, then Redemption Island is where players who are voted out compete against other players who were voted out and return to the game later on at some pre-determined stage.

I liked the aspect of " The tribe has spoken"  and then having that person get voted out, redemption island cheapens that a bit by allowing them to come back to the game, the only other season that did that was way back in the Pear Islands where 6 players who were voted out got to make their own tribal council and vote 2 players back in the game and that caused a lot of fans to rage a bit.

Many seasons later, we still dont like players coming back after being voted out.

Redemption island takes far too much time from the show and whats worse it replaces the Reward challenge which I always loved, watching two tribes battle it out in some swimming contest then run and do a puzzle or having them navigate blindfolded tribemates to clues is more exciting then watching two players who arguably dont deserve to be in the game, stack bricks or something >.>

Of course we might still get those big challenges as immunity challenges but we get half as many now in this season as we did in previous ones.

As for the changes mentioned? well Redemption island will not have group challenges anymore, they will all be duels, last season we had 8 players competing in the finale, unlike most where we have 4-5 players.
Not a major change really.

For me, I'd have preferred a good old fashioned survivor season, two challenges per episode, 18 new players, no redemption, but who knows this might work out better then last season ( it could hardly get worse)

What do you guys think? will these new twists ruin this season? how do you feel about Coach and Ozzy playing for a third time?

I'll leave you now with a picture of a cat begging for a comment or two :D

Naruto 551 Review

Welcome everyone, its been 2 weeks since the last chapter of Naruto was released, but Kisi defeinitely used his time well by providing one of the most explosive and beautiful chapters ever so lets start our review :D

Our chapter starts off same way as the last one finished with Nagato grabbing Naruto and using his old Preta path ability to absorb ninjutsu, Naruto tries to remember all the techniques Nagato used in their fight so far and decides to go with a rasengan ten seconds after he concludes that it will be useless, Naruto still has ways to go in the intelligence department :/

After realizing that normal techniques wont work, Naruto resorts to talk-no-jutsu to try to get Nagato to snap our of it, but its pretty futile by now, while some people thought that Nagato absorbing Bee's chakra might help him break free from Kabuto, it plainly isnt going that way here.

Nagato summons the Naraka path, apparently Kabuto can use Human path to remove souls and revive them later, Kabuto clearly is no ally of Madara but he states here that he will "Revive" Naruto and Bee later, does he mean revive them as edo tensei or as normal humans?

Speaking of Bee...

Is the top panel epic or is the top panel super epic? Bee makes one pretty cool heroic entry, but Why he doesnt use Samahada is a bit strange, I would think that if they sucked enough of Nagato's chakra back he would revert to his weaker crippled form...

Bee is spotted by the salamander thing and while it was never stated so far, I think is safe to say now that Pein's summons also share vision with him, that means pein can almost always have full vision if he wants by summoning whichever summon he needs to be his eyes.

Who said two jinchuriki are better then one?
Say what you want about Pein, but he proves himself in this panel, can anyone else play with Naruto and Bee the way he does? though I suppose being dead means usual precautions are not needed, but with his perfect use of the six paths Pein dominates this fight.

Bee has an  interesting idea for Naruto, while Pein is pulling his soul Bee mentions about the way the Kyuubi does something similar, but before we hear the full plan guess whose back from the.....death?

Okay so Bee's entry of falling from the sky was pretty cool, but Itachi takes the cake as the coolest savior in Naruto, even Kakashi cant beat him in that, itachi manages to free Naruto and Bee and protect them from nagato in one swift move,  he even manages to use his famous shuriken techniques to blind all of Nagato's summons, I suppose Itachi's true power comes from protecting others.

Kabuto is unimpressed though and describes Itachi as just one more person to capture, not exactly sure what he means by that, if he captures Itachi will he just edo tensei him again? Hmm........

After his rescue we see the difference between Itachi and the jinchuriki, while they panic he seems pretty calm about Pein coming for them.

Another beautiful panel here, Susanoo and everyone else is being pulled through, Would this count as a weakness of susanoo? that it has to have something to stand on? hmm....

While Itachi hid his personality pretty well while he is alive, here he demonstrates a pretty sarcastic sense of humour, asking naruto how he can survive a move that he said is fatal, Naruto's offers a priceless reaction to that.

Itachi again demonstrates how smart he really is, by identifying the black mass as the problem and that they have to get rid of it with long range attacks, since getting close is clearly out of the picture, when Naruto asks how they are supposed to aim for such a small object at a far distance while avoiding all the obstacles in the way, Itachi merely points out that since the block hole is sucking everything in, you dont Need to aim for it to hit it, throw the attack close enough towards it and it will hit itself.

Think of throwing a small metal near a huge magnet, all you need is to get it close enough.
Thanks to Itachi's suggestion, we get what is perhaps the most amazing panel ever, I said the art was good this week but this panel is easily the best of an already amazing chapter, its hard to tell which one looks the best, Itachi is using some sort of wind technique, with susanoo looking somewhat birdlike in his panel, while Naruto is standing on floating stones, after firing off a huge rasenshuriken, But my favourite is Bee, the Hachibi looks amazing with its tentacles and its tailed bomb, its really an amazing picture.

After that onslaught nothing is left of Pein's attack, and from a distance Itachi uses his totsuki blade, the same one he used to seal orochimaru so long ago, itachi has provided two new ways to deal with edo tensei, powerful genjutsu and this totsuki blade.

Pein apologizes to itachi while he is given the chance to say his final words, he chooses to direct them to Naruto, telling him about how he is going to go to jiraiya and that Naruto is the third part of the trilogy, and Nagato considers himself to be a failure as the second part, its sad to see Nagato so disappointed in himself but he doesnt let it get to him, he tells Naruto to be so great so that he might wash away Nagato's sins, Naruto's response is an epic "nice guy pose".

Comments.

Not sure what to add here that I havent stated already, this Chapter was mindblowing to say the least, everything said and done and shown was masterful in execution.

Perhaps it was because this chapter focused on Itachi, the more time that guy gets the better the chapter, Itachi was a very dynamic character and seeing the way he fought this week protecting everyone and at the same time leading the battle makes me wish we see more of him.

Nagato also impressed here, he had no trouble till itachi came and still managed to hold on a little bit.

Art this week can not get enough praise, everything was perfect, Kishi used high angles and close up shots, he showed the choas of battle well with all the flying rocks and his image of the 3 attacking the black hole will go down as one of the best images in naruto, I myself cannot wait to see it in the anime series.

And thats all for now, I have no predictions since the story can anywhere next week.

Hope you enjoyed this chapter and this review.

Naruto 550 Review.

Hello everyone, Naruto 550 came out early this week, so Luckily I am able to review it early as well,

This week's chapter is called Koto Amatsukami, and deals with the long awaited crow that Itachi put in Naruto, anyways Lets start the review.

Our chapter starts exactly where the last one ended, with the crow coming out of Naruto's mouth, hell it could just be the same scene from a different angle, as everyone but Itachi is confused by the appearance of the crow it, Itachi's eye starts to bleed and we flashback to the scene of when the crow was first given to Naruto and how it was Itachi's final fail-safe for Sasuke.

The blood on Itachi's eye worries Nagato and make him think that Itachi is going to use amatersu, Bee tries to stop Itachi but it turns out that all that Itachi was doing was casting a genjutsu on himself.

Everytime Itachi so much as sneezes, everyone goes "wtf?:

Kabuto reacts with surprise, his degree of control on Edo Tensei has never been completely established, but even with less pawns to control and more Oro chakra thanks to Anko he still cant stop Itachi from doing whatever he is doing.

The crow lands on Naruto's shoulder, and it has one sharingan and one normal eye, how common is one eyed sharingan now? Kakashi, Danzo and Madara each have one, and now birds too? ehh.... the only thing worse is if the sharingan suddenly starts appearing on peoples arms like pimple- oh right...

Itachi uses Amaterasu, but he misses ( or did he?) and gets Pein's dog instead, Naruto's giant rasengan from last chapter couldnt get rid of it, but Amaterasu seems to do the trick, My guess is that if you burn every part of the body it wont have anything to regenerate from, Anyways after burning the pup Itachi sets his sight on Pein.

Kabuto clearly lost all control of Itachi, as Itachi burns Nagato and his poor bird, one thing that occured to me is when Edo Tensei bodies are revived, what state are they in? the state they died in? cause Nagato looks just like when he died, yet Itachi died without his sharingan but he still has it.... or maybe they are revived based on what time their DNA is taken, any ideas?

A confused Naruto asks Itachi what just happened, apparently the crow would use a genjutsu on anyone with Itachi's mangkyo, this genjutsu would compel the person to only perform actions that would protect konoha, like burn Pein or save Naruto.

The eye of the Crow is a real sharingan, unlike the usual sharingans that itachi puts in his crows during genjutsu's, it belonged to Shisui Uchiha, the same Shisui who Itachi killed and Lost an  eye to Danzo, after casting the genjutsu, the Crow loses its mangkyo and cant use it again, either because of a chakra limitation ( like with Chidori early on) or because of a time limit problem ( like with Pein's shinrei tensei).

Bee recognizes the name of Shisui, just like Ao did when he saw his Chakra in Danzo, we havent been told much of Shisui, but he was apparently famous both for his use of the body-flicker technique and for this genjutsu eye, the most powerful genjutsu eye.

Itachi mentions on what  a true ninja is, a true ninja is one who doesnt seen glory, but who protects his village from the shadows, that is a true ninja.

Shisui gave one of his sharingans to Itachi after danzo took one, Shisui in some ways is like Madara's brother, both gave their eyes to the person they trusted to make them stronger, and both died shortly afterwards, in another irony, Shisui died in a similar manner to danzo, Shisui died to prevent his enemy ( Danzo) from getting his eye, while before he died Danzo crushed Shisui's eye to prevent his enemy ( Madara) from getting it.

Itachi has great faith in Naruto, and in brother in general, in fast Itachi's whole theme has been related to brotherhood, he killed Shisui who was said to be like a brother to him, and killed everyone except for his brother who he loved too much, and the only person he trusted to save Sasuke if he turned evil was the person who also considered Sasuke his brother.

The orginal use for Shisui's eye was to activate on Sasuke if he transplanted Itachi's eye, a decent plan that would have worked, Itachi could not have seen a mass edo tensei, but Bee brings up another point, why not just use Shisui's genjutsu on sasuke from the start?  and Itachi answers that he couldnt at the time, and it will take 10 years for it to be used again unless they have some Hashirima senju chakra around ( I swear that guy's chakra can be used for anything, from charging birds to subduing tailed beasts)

Naruto reassures Itachi, telling him that he will save Sasuke, a lot of people have told Naruto to kill Sasuke lately, so its nice to see someone tell Naruto to stick to his original plan and try to save him instead, coming from Itachi, it created quite an emotional moment, Itachi's life has been nothing if not self-sacrifice for his brother.

Nagato didnt burn completely, thanks to his gravity repelling ninjutsu, Amaterasu can be removed as was demonstrated by the sand siblings during the kage meeting, Pein regenerates and charges for the 2 jinchuriki and Itachi has vanished, what happened to him?

Pein fires a massive charge from a summoned creature, then follows through by charging Bee who responds with my favourite Rap so far and switches to his version 2 of the tailed beast, we havent seen it in a while and it was devastating the last time, but our time with it is cut short when Pein uses Preta path's ability to suck off Bee's chakra, yet with Bee having samahada cant he just suck it back? with Bee taking and giving chakra and Pein doing the same, it will be like a chakra filled 69... :D

Bee's chakra has a very interesting effect of turning Pein into a younger version of himself, and when Naruto attacks Pein he uses Human Path's ability, if you dont know what that is, it was the same ability Pein used to kill anko,  and with the chapter ending ominously with the words " Nagato has become complete" well it doesnt look good for our heroes does it?

Comments

Beautiful, Beautiful chapter, I loved the history lesson of shisui, the uchiha clan having such members as Itachi, obito and Shisui makes me wonder why they ever wanted to revolt?

the fighting this chapter was less then last week, but seeing Itachi turn on Nagato was sweet, two dead guys fighting each other? awesome, although i wonder what happened to itachi after he gave his message to naruto, was he released from edo tensei cause he became emotionally satisfied like some other dead ninja? ( 4th kazekage, sasori)

Kabuto losing Itachi should have been a major blow to him, yet it seemed that Shisui's eye is even more important then that, Kabuto seems crazy prepared for everything.

The art this week had many varied shots, from closeups of character's faces to pictures of huge blasts, burning giant dogs and birds, there was something for everyone, and I thought most of it was well done.

Predictions

My prediction for last week was right, I knew the bird would snap itachi from edo tensei, but I thought it was in the form of living chakra not a genjutsu.

I am honestly lost about next week, but it seems like Nagato has lost all his free will, so I think it will be a serious fight between the jinchuriki and Nagato.

and thats it for today, hope this review has been helpful, and I hope you all have a nice day.

Naruto 549 Review

Hello and welcome everyone to my review of Naruto's latest chapter, sorry about not reviewing last week's chapter as I still have a bit of a computer issue, anyways while I am sure you wanna know more about that I'll just review this week's chapter for now :D

The chapter for this week is called "Itachi's question" which I find odd considering how it has more fighting then "Naruto Vs Itachi" last week, Pein starts us off by saying how it feels like yesterday since he last saw Naruto, I wonder what the afterlife is like in Naruto since Zabuza didnt experince one either, but anyways Pein follows up by saying how Naruto has changed since he last saw him, Naruto thinks he is talking about his new Chakra Mode, but Pein meant Naruto has a new expression, Kinda odd how Pein focuses on his expression and not the Giant glowing chakra around him but what do I know?

Itachi seems surprised with Naruto's progress, I guess that rules out my theory about the Raven in Naruto being Itachi's chakra and watching over him, Pein brings up his old theme of hatred and thinks that Naruto has  finally conquered his and Naruto thanks him for helping him get over his Hatred, I find that kinda odd cause Pein did kill Jiraiya and now him and Naruto are chatting like they are buddies, Death really changes a guy....

Both Naruto and Itachi have questions for each other, but before they can get to that, Kabuto starts the fight between them, Kabuto wants to capture the 8 and 9-tails and wants to use them to bargain with Madara, Kabuto has never been a clear cut person, even while he was with orochimaru we didnt know what he was thinking, and now while he is working with madara we dont know if he really is his ally, but I think him trying to capture Naruto puts him squarely in the Villains category for now.

Itachi draws the first hit, he uses the old Uchiha favourite Kato Goukakyuu, but Bee manages to split it pretty easily with Samahada, but Sama does not seem to like Fire ninjutsu, makes sense since samahada would qualify as a water type weapon and fire would hurt it, still if it can absorb Kyuubi and Hachibi chakra I find it hard to swallow that a little fire jutsu would hurt it.

Itachi notices Samahada and realizes Kisame is dead, I really wish Itachi and Kisame's relationship had more page time, since they seemed to be good friends by the time they died, Kisame remebered Itachi in his last moments and this week Itachi thinks about him as well.

Naruto is mad about the attack but Bee responds by.... not rapping? I am kinda disappointed by that :(, Pein then warns them about the next attack, Seems like Kabuto hasnt completely erased their personality yet, I would have thought that he would have considering how Itachi and Pein would try to help Naruto, but since he didnt completely control the Raikage and Mizukage either perhaps Kabuto cant fully control people with large chakra, unlike say Zabuza?

Itachi asks Naruto about what happened to Sasuke since he last saw him, he seems surprised when he is told that Sasuke is a member of akatsuki and wants revenge on Konoha, Itachi really wanted Sasuke to go back to the village but he seems less surprised when he finds out that Madara is involved in this.

If you ever doubted Madara's words about Itachi, well itachi himself confirms what he said here, Itachi though still doesnt want to hear about the Uchiha Coup from naruto, a strange thing is how Nagato doesnt know a thing about this, It makes me wonder about who was responsible for recruting Akatsuki members, since we know Itachi wanted to join to keep an eye on Madara, yet I doubt Madara wanted him around, and since Nagato was only a figure head leader you'd think he would have asked Madara about if they should recruit one of the last uchiha, hmm....

Another strange thing about this page ( aside from Naruto using talk-no-jutsu on the dead now) is how Itachi seems surprised about Madara knowing why he wanted to kill the Uchiha, if Itachi didnt tell him, who did? Danzo?

Itachi doesnt want the truth to be spread out, he thinks it will tarnish the Uchiha's honour, which sort of makes sense, the Uchiha now look like a clan who died because of one crazy member trying to kill them all, if the truth came out they would look like a bunch of traitors, shame about Sasuke...

Pein uses his gravity move to suck Naruto ( Not that way you pervert) but Naruto uses a chakra arm to grab on to the ground, since I saw the Chakra arm in part 1, I wanted to see it utilized more, and now with Naruto having control of the kyuubi we might finally get that.

After a little bit more talking, the fighters seem to pair up, Naruto vs Pein for a rematch, while Bee takes on Itachi, which is kinda like a rematch between the Hachibi and an Uchiha, Pein mentions how he cant walk seconds before he gets mobile thanks to his summons, while Itachi warns Bee that he is behind him.

Bee swings Samahada, no control problems here, but Itachi dodges the attack easily and counters with fire shuriken, Bee shows us yet again what a nice guy he is by taking the fire shuriken itself instead of letting Samahada hurt itself for him, awwww....

Bee also demonstrates his control of the Hachibi by using partial transformation to send a tentacle underground and grab Itachi, pretty cool tactic, Itachi counters by using a genjutsu, but before it does anything Bee snaps out of it thanks to the 8-tails chakra, and that made me think that because of the working relationship between Bee and the 8-tails that they fight Itachi, since the Kyuubi might not snap Naruto out of a genjutsu.

Remember this positon? So thats where his old swords were, pretty cool, Nice to see Bee putting swords in his sword, so he can slash while he slashes.

Meanwhile, Naruto uses what looks like the biggest Rasengan yet, its quite something, but the Dog just multiplies each time he is hit, so Pein tells him to go for the summoner instead, while Itachi gets pushed back by Bee's use of his weird sword stance, Itachi has fought quite a few swrodsmen in the past, orochimaru and Sasuke among them, so seeing him have trouble with this is a remainder of just how powerful this stance is.

Itachi ends the Chapter for us, by resummoning the bird he put in  naruto almost 150 chapters ago, Considering how Itachi is unsure what will happen if he does what he is thinking of doing, I am guessing that the bird might have some sort of living chakra inside him, which if he absorbs might give him some measure of free will..... or something :D

Comments

Solid chapter as usual, then again any chapter with Itachi is automatically 10 times better then if it didnt have him, but this overall arc has been consistent with everything, the fights have all been well done ( how often do you see a fight between dead and living people?) bringing notable rematches like Milfune vs Hanzou, Kakashi vs Zabuza or Kankuro vs Sasori, so seeing Naruto face Pein is pretty cool, but I do hope the fight switches and he faces Itachi instead.

As for the art? well you will have to see Blackjack about that, but I thought that one ting this chapter has doen masterfully is show emotions and expression you can clearly tell how they feel by the look on their face, Naruto's determination, Itachi's sadness, Peins pride and Bee's..... something :D

And thats all for this week, sorry for not writing a review about last week's chapter guys, hope I made it up to you this week :)

Naruto 547 Review

Hello and Welcome everyone to this late review for Naruto 547, My computer broke down earlier this week and hopefully I will have it fixed up soon, but lets start our review now.

Our chapter starts with Gaara telling his father how he is no longer a jinchuriki and he has friends, the 4th Kazekage is more surprised by him having friends then losing the shukuku, to which the 2nd Mizukage says thats its no big deal for Gaara to have friends, While at first I found the Mizukage to be annoying, I am starting to like him more and more with each word he says.

Gaara announces how he is now the Kazekage, a position that requires him to protect his village from every threat, I found this ironic in a way, in the old days, Gaara's dad tried to kill him because Gaara was a threat to the village, now the 4th is the threat and Gaara is the one to stop him.

Oonoki chips in and adds that not only is he the new Kage, but the commander general as well, an impressive feat for someone so young, however Mu seems more interested in this joint shinobi army then in Gaara.

I love this page, it starts of with the Mizuekage being awesome, his sense of humor Really lightens the mood, the Raikage congratulates the 4th on his son and tells him to take out Mu first, its strange how fast Mu seems to be disliked by others.

The scene shifts to a flashback to Gaara's birth, we see Chiyo informing the 4th that Gaara is compatible with shukuku, I found it odd how the 4th calls Gaara "it" instead of him.

We also learn that Gaara was born premature, it somewhat explains his slightly smaller then average build, another thing about Gaara being compatible is that he resembles his father a lot, It makes me think that the 4th was also compatible with shukuku but being Kazekage he could not risk being a jinchuriki as well, and since jinchuriki are usually close to the Kage's family, it makes sense to make his son a jinchuriki instead of himself.

Its sweet to see how small Gaara is next to his mother, as well as the 4th concern for her, we dont get enough scenes like this, to see how people care for each other in the ninja world, it reminds me a little of Naruto's own birth and adds another similarity between Gaara and Naruto, both lost their mothers the day they were born.

Gaara apparently doesnt control the shukaku as well as his father had hoped, although he seems to not be the first to fail with being a jinchuriki.

We dont see much of Village economics, but it seems that Suna has always struggled in that area, they trade gold and...techniques(?) with other villages? I'm not sure if thats what is being said,  but it does make sense for a village to sell its techniques, if other villages can go to extreme length to protect their secret techniques ( Hyuuga) then selling them seems like a viable thing to do.

We go back now to one of Gaara's most defining moments in life, when his uncle tried to kill him, in part 1 we learned that this moment broke him and made him a cold murderer, but now we learn it was part of a plot set by his father, he wanted to push Gaara and hoped he could contain the One tailed beast, all in the name of discovering his Value.

We all know what happened next, the 4th's kind plan didnt work and Gaara snapped and let out Shukaku, and to be honest, I found this development to be somewhat unexpected, we never got any hints to it and it makes Gaara's story somewhat less tragic, before he was a guy who overcame everyone's hatred and became a hero, now he seems like some guy who was fooled by his dad in the past....

The scene shifts back to the present day, where the 4th realizes that thanks to Edo Tensei, he has one last chance to test Gaara, while Mu reminds Oonoki that only he can stop him, then tells him that after the war is over to betray his allies and take all the spoils for himself, Mu is one devious guy and the Mizu and Raikage both object to this plan, the Raikage was already known as a decent guy but the Mizukage objecting this plan shows that he is a nice guy ( well nicer then Mu) along with his sense of humor, this puts me in the Mizukage's side in the Mizu vs Mu debate.

Oonoki though refuses his old teacher's plan, showing character development for a guy who is over 90 now which is not something you see everyday.

The Mizukage tells the Alliance that they cant move their bodies and that they will tell them their weakpoints, while the Raikage says they should stop their movements first, both of them show concern for the living shinobi while the other two Kages have so far shown more interest in their predecessors.

Gaara and his dad attack each other while Mizu and Raikage go to the sides and charge at him, apparently Gaara's attack is the signal for the alliance to attack, as the Alliance charges in Gaara uses some sort of rain sand attack to get the kages, but its stopped by the former Kazekage, its a feint though and the real attack was to get them from below, a tactic Gaara did with Oonoki just the last chapter.

This time though, the attack changes to the shape of Karura, which grabs on to and holds all the Kages except Mu ( who is being entertained by Oonoki ), the 4th tries to attack even while he is captured but the Shield of sand protects Gaara,Which shocks the 4th, as he always thought it was Shukaku who protected Gaara  out of self-preservation, not his mother's spirit protecting him out of love.

The 4th, being hugged by a sand sculpture of his wife while his son looks on, its quite a sight, and the 4th realizes the importance of faith in his children, the same faith Minato had in his son, its something all parents seem to get moments before they die :/

The chapter ends with Gaara being told that his mother loved him, its a moving moment especially when you remember how its the idea that his mother hated and cursed him that brought out shukaku the first time, realizing that the Shield that protected him all his life was his mother, and that it was out of love....

Thats kinda cool :D

Comments

An interesting chapter ( I say that each week dont i?) With a lot of development for quite a few character, we get to know a bit more about the dead kages, nothing new on Raikage, while Mu shows his colors, telling Oonoki to betray his allies was a low blow and this contrasts sharply with the Mizukage telling people how to beat him.

But what I loved most in this chapter was the father-son relationship between the current and former Kazekage, Gaara's whole life was plagued by his parents, his mother cursed him and his dad tried to kill him, and to see Gaara find out that his mother loved him, and from his dad no less, it packed an emotional punch, which was more important then the action this week ( pssh, some dust flying around, big deal)

Well thats all for this chapter, I feel like I havent even touched it in this review but unfortunately I have no computer and I hope to give a better Review next week, well till next time guys.
